Li Yong (678–747), also known as Li Beihai, also known as Li Kuozhou, was a Tang Dynasty calligrapher. Li Yong became famous as a teenager, and was later summoned to Zuo Shiyi, and served as a member of the household department, such as Wailang, Guanzhou Assassin, and Beihai Taishou, known as "Li Beihai". In Li Yong's surviving works, especially the "Ye Youdao Stele" was respected by the commentators of the past generations.

Li Yong's calligraphy had a great influence on future generations, starting from the "second king", which can go inside and out of it. Since the Wei and Jin dynasties, the inscriptions and stones have been written in the main book, and after entering the Tang Dynasty, Li Yong changed the use of xingshu and wrote the stele. The personality of calligraphy is very obvious, the glyphs are high on the left and low on the right, the pen is stretched and vigorous, giving people a sense of danger and cheerfulness, he advocates innovation, inheritance and development of ancient calligraphy. He once said, "He who is like me desires to be vulgar, and he who learns from me dies." Su Dongpo and Mi Yuanzhang both absorbed some of his characteristics, and Zhao Mengqian of the Yuan Dynasty also vigorously pursued his penmanship, and learned the calligraphy realm of "grace and leisure".
