Hungary, an EU country, why many people say that their ancestors came from the East, Hungarians are the same as us, the surname is in front of the name, Chinese is the second language of Hungary, English is the third, there are rumors that they are descendants of the Huns, but I don't know if it is true.

Hungarian Prime Minister Strongly Supports China, Ignores US Sanctions and Supports Huawei? Why is it pro-Russian and pro-China?

Why is Hungary, a member of the European Union, firmly supporting the mainland in recent days? There are often people who, despite being in extremely mundane positions, are changing the world in a unique way. Although their strength is meager, they can withstand the pressure of a large group. This person is the Prime Minister of Hungary - Orban. In an important event in 2019, he managed to prevent the attack on the continent by 26 countries of the European Union by his own strength.

That was in 2019, when the United States, together with a number of Western countries, jointly imposed severe sanctions on Huawei. These countries have demanded that Hungary stop using Huawei's 5G technology, but Prime Minister Orban has not paid any attention to this. Not only did he not follow the advice of these countries, but he personally went to Huawei's headquarters and had an in-depth conversation with Huawei's founder, Ren Zhengfei. Later, he publicly stated that Huawei would actively participate in the 5G construction project in Hungary. This kind of behavior is undoubtedly a challenge to the United States and a silent protest against its hegemonism.

At the 2023 EU Summit, which attracted global attention, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban once again took center stage with his unique leadership charisma and forward-thinking thinking. The summit focused on two central issues: Ukraine's application for EU membership and whether the EU should provide Ukraine with an economic aid package of up to 50 billion euros. However, instead of taking the traditional pro or no stance in the decisive round of the vote, Orban opted for an eight-hour thoughtful speech, a move that brought the already tight voting process to a standstill.

Faced with such a situation, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz expressed obvious anxiety, suggesting that if Orban did have difficulties in making decisions, perhaps he could leave the meeting for a while so that other leaders could continue the meeting without interference. But Orban, with extraordinary calmness and calmness, chose to leave the conference room and go to the restaurant to enjoy a cup of mellow coffee, as if all this strife had nothing to do with him.

Since Hungary did not actually participate in the vote, it was seen as a tacit abstention, an interpretation that touched Orban's sensitive nerves. He quickly issued a statement on social media, in which he vehemently pointed out that Hungary had not abstained from voting and had not participated in the discussion of the vote on Ukraine at all. His position is clear and firm, and it undoubtedly conveys Hungary's attitude to this issue to the outside world.

When we talk about friendship that transcends borders, we are often struck by its depth and vastness. And for Hungary, a small Eastern European country that was asked why it "cares about China", the emotional bond between it and China is even more thought-provoking. At this moment, I would like to borrow the profound proverb of the Hungarian people to describe the sincere and indelible friendship between the two countries. That proverb says that although the Hungarian flag flutters in the west wind, it is the breeze from the east that really drives it.

So why is there such a deep friendship between this shining pearl of Central Europe and the great power of the Far East? When a reporter from the BBC asked with a questioning and challenging tone why the Hungarian government, a member of the European Union, has such a strong interest in China, a spokesperson for the Hungarian Foreign Ministry did not hesitate to respond, calling for people not to adopt double standards, and pointing out that at a critical moment when Hungary is facing a crisis of the epidemic, few other countries have reached out to help, except for China.

It is particularly worth mentioning that at the most severe moment of the epidemic in Hungary in 2021, China not only generously donated hundreds of thousands of doses of COVID-19 vaccines, but also set up a vaccine production base for Hungary, building a solid anti-epidemic barrier for the Hungarian people and helping the country successfully survive that difficult time. These practical actions have undoubtedly made the Hungarian people deeply feel the friendship and warmth of China, and have further consolidated the deep friendship between the two countries.

In fact, the deep friendship between China and Hungary dates back to the early 70s. During that period, in order to restore its lawful seat in the United Nations, New China made unremitting efforts and lobbied representatives of various countries. It is worth remembering that at this critical juncture, the Hungarian government, one of the hosts, stood firmly on China's side and cast a valuable vote in favor of the United Nations General Assembly.

With the passage of time, 2013 has become the first year of the "Belt and Road" initiative, an epoch-making international cooperation concept that has attracted global attention. The Hungarian government has shown remarkable foresight and decisive action in this regard, and quickly became one of the first European countries to join and actively participate in it. Driven by this grand blueprint, in October 2021, the Hungarian-Serbian railway project, which symbolizes the milestone of the "Belt and Road" construction, officially kicked off the construction.

The Hungarian-Serbian Railway, a flagship project led by China, not only carries the common expectations of the Chinese and Hungarian peoples, but also becomes an important link between Budapest, the capital of Hungary, and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Its completion will greatly shorten the travel time between the two places, from the original 8 hours to only 3 hours, bringing unprecedented convenience to the economic and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In March 2022, the Benoy section of the Hungarian-Serbian railway was successfully put into operation, and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Serbian President Vucic rode this historic first train. During the speeding of the train, the faces of the two leaders were filled with smiles of pride and joy, and their smiles reflected the affirmation and expectation of the friendly relations between China and Hungary.

Those passengers who were fortunate enough to take this train also expressed their gratitude to Chinese enterprises for their great contributions to the construction of the Hungarian-Serbian railway. They said that the Chinese enterprises not only demonstrated superb construction technology, but also reflected the cherishing and respect for the deep friendship between the two peoples in the project.

As the old Chinese proverb says, "If people respect me for one foot, I will return one foot for others." This sentence not only reflects the humility and tolerance of the Chinese, but also appropriately describes the friendly relations between China and Hungary. The many similarities in the cultural customs of the two countries have added a profound foundation to the mutual understanding and respect between the two peoples. Driven by the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Hungary will continue to work together to write a more brilliant chapter.
