The mission, codenamed NS-25, uses Blue Origin's New Shepard aircraft. The vehicle consists of a launch vehicle and a cockpit, both of which are reusable. The rocket sends the manned cockpit to a distance of about 100 kilometers above the ground, after which the cockpit goes into a state of weightlessness for several minutes, and finally returns to the ground under the deceleration of the parachute. Passengers will not only experience weightlessness, but will also be able to see the Earth near the boundary between the Earth's atmosphere and space. From launch to cockpit landing, the entire flight lasts about 11 minutes.

The NS-25 mission was the 25th launch of the New Shepard vehicle and its seventh manned launch, carrying six passengers, including 91-year-old retired U.S. Air Force Captain Ed Dwight, the first African-American in history to be selected as an astronaut candidate, but failed to fly the space mission in 1961.

Blue Origin's last manned flight was on the NS-22 mission in August 2022. In September of the same year, the "New Shepard" had an anomaly during an unmanned NS-23 research mission, and the rocket was damaged, and then grounded. Blue Origin was founded by Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon Inc., and its main competitor in the suborbital flight tourism space is the British company Virgin Galactic, which is scheduled to carry four passengers on the Galaxy 07 suborbital mission on June 8.
