Since the Civic e:HEV — as the model name suggests — is another hybrid model, the Honda Electric Compact Honda e remains the only battery electric vehicle in the electric portfolio. Other models Jazz, Jazz Crossstar, CR-V and HR-V are only available as full hybrids.

The 11th generation of Civic compact cars will also no longer be available as pure internal combustion engines, but only as full hybrids. Civic e:HEV also relies on tandem hybrid layouts such as Jazz e:HEV. The first electric motor acts as a generator and converts the kinetic energy of the internal combustion engine into electrical energy. It is then fed into an electric drive with an output of up to 135 kW via a lithium-ion battery. The operating combustion engine does not drive the wheels directly. Honda has not yet announced a price and plans to go public in the fall of 2022.

In addition to the Hybrid Civic, Honda also hopes to launch more electric models in 2023, thus "creating the most comprehensive European product plan in many years". According to the announcement, new products include a Class B pure electric SUV, a Class C full hybrid SUV e:Ny1 Prototype and a new CR-V. Time in Europe with full hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems. Honda describes the e:Ny1 as "the heart of the future model range."

"The completion of our electrification goals marks an important moment for Honda in Europe," said Tom Gardner, senior vice president of Honda Automotive Europe. "However, we will not be satisfied with the status quo. Our programs are already very advanced, further expanding our selection of battery-electric and hybrid vehicles for our customers and increasing our offerings in the fast-growing B- and C-class SUV segments. In the Chinese market, this competition will be more intense.
