Statistics show that among the top 20 companies and groups, 12 are Chinese enterprises, and the development momentum of China's electric vehicles is strong.

In terms of Chinese companies, SAIC Motor Group ranked second, with sales of 596,000 units last year, 2.4 times that of the previous year. Among them, the low-cost pure electric vehicle SAIC-GM-Wuling Hongguang MINIEV is the most popular, with a price of about 30,000 yuan, and its sales in 2021 reached 420,000 units, accounting for about 70% of SAIC Motor's pure electric vehicle sales.

BYD Automobile, which ranked Fourth, sold 320,000 units in 2021, 2.4 times that of the previous year. It is worth mentioning that BYD has an advantage in battery technology, launching a wide range of pure electric vehicle categories from cars to SUVs at universal prices.

In addition, 4 new car-making forces, including Xiaopeng Automobile, Weilai Automobile and United New Energy Vehicle, have also entered the top 20. Overall, China's pure electric vehicle sales in 2021 reached 2.91 million, accounting for more than 60% of the world.

In terms of foreign companies, the American company Tesla ranked first, with sales of 936,000 vehicles last year; in addition, Ford Motor in the United States also entered the top 20. In addition, nissan motors, France-Renault and Mitsubishi motors have 240,000 units, ranking fifth.

Looking ahead to 2022, British research firm LMC Automotive predicts that global pure electric vehicle sales will increase by 50% from 2022 to about 7 million units in 2022.
