According to the news released by the procurement and bidding network on March 24, Shanghai Mechanical and Electrical Equipment Bidding Co., Ltd. was entrusted to issue the "International Bidding Announcement for The New 3 7800 Parking Spaces LNG Dual Fuel Vehicle Transport Ship", inviting suppliers across the country to participate in the bidding, and interested units should contact the project contact person in time to participate in the bidding.

Tender project number: 0613-224025100886, the tender project is to build three new 7800 parking LNG dual-fuel vehicle transport ships. According to the request for proposals, the project funds are in place or the source of funds is implemented as follows: "self-financing and implementation, funds have been in place, and the bidding conditions are met".

According to Cin Tak Maritime Network, the bidder company is Anji Shipping Company, a subsidiary of Shanghai Anji Logistics, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor Group (SAIC Motor).

The tender calls for delivery of Vessel 1 on October 30, 2024; Ship No. 2 on December 25, 2024; and Vessel No. 3 on March 30, 2025.

Bidders should have experience in the construction of large automobile vessels and have a good reputation in the industry, 3000 parking spaces (RT-43) large car ships have been delivered or have been launched not less than five, and have a displacement of not less than 20,000 tons of LNG dual-fuel powered ships or large (50000m3 and above) LNG gas carriers (and LNG/LPG fuel power) delivery of not less than eight performance.

According to The Trust Maritime Network, the tender has now been closed. This means that a newbuilding order for 3 large LNG dual-fuel ro-ro vessels with 7800 vehicles (CEU) is coming soon.

On January 17 this year, SAIC Anji Logistics Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SAIC Motor Group Co., Ltd., and Jiangnan Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Group Co., Ltd., and China Shipbuilding Industry & Trading Co., Ltd. jointly signed a contract to order two 7600 LNG dual-fuel powered vehicle carriers (PCTC).

However, from the official rendering of the above two 7600 vehicle LNG dual-fuel vehicles (as shown above), the company of these two ships is called ANJI COSCO SHIPPING.

Subsequently, on February 24 this year, COSCO SHIPPING Group's COSCO Haite (600428.SH) issued an announcement that the company held the 20th meeting of the seventh board of directors, and all directors deliberated and passed the "proposal on the establishment of a joint venture automobile ro-ro company with SAIC Anji Logistics". According to the joint venture plan, the registered capital of the joint venture company is 200 million yuan, the two parties use cash as capital contribution, and the shareholding ratios of the company and Anji Logistics are 35% and 65% respectively.

The name of the joint venture company is "Anji Ro-Ro Transport Co., Ltd." (subject to the name of the final approval of the administration for industry and commerce); the main business is the domestic coastal, inland river and international automobile ro-ro transportation business, as well as the two-end logistics business related to the automobile ro-ro business; it is intended to be registered in Yangpu, Hainan. After the establishment of the joint venture company, the existing automobile vessels of both shareholders will be leased to the joint venture company for a long time in the form of light lease or futures lease.

According to Xinde Maritime Network, the joint venture company is tentatively named "Anji COSCO SHIPPING SPECIAL RO-RO TRANSPORT (Shanghai) Co., Ltd." Proposed to be renamed: "Anji Ro-Ro Transport Co., Ltd.", is performing relevant procedures, and the industrial and commercial filing has not changed.

According to a recent report by Shun Tak Maritime Network, "15 LNG dual-fuel newbuilding orders, COSCO HAITE will expand the size of the ro-ro fleet", according to the latest news, Guangzhou-based COSCO HAITE is seeking to order 15 pure car truck transport ships of 7000CEU or above. Depending on the size of the final implementation, the price is expected to be between $85 million and $90 million per vessel.

It is understood that at present, COSCO SHIPPING Special Transport has been in contact with domestic shipyards that have the ability to build this type of ship. Including China Merchants Industry Nanjing Jinling Shipyard, China Merchants Industry Weihai Shipyard, Jiangnan Shipbuilding, CIMC Raffles City, Guangzhou Shipbuilding International and COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industries.
