Xinmin Evening News (reporter Ye Wei) SAIC will accelerate the promotion of "China's intelligent manufacturing" to the world. Today, SAIC Motor and China Shipbuilding Group signed an agreement to "tailor" two LNG dual-fuel, low-carbon and environmentally friendly 7600-space ocean-going vehicle carriers (ro-ro ships) for SAIC's Anji Logistics, actively meeting the growing export business needs of SAIC and other independent and foreign brands in China. At present, SAIC Anji Logistics has built the largest domestic auto enterprise self-operated fleet, with 31 automobile ships of various types, including 12 river ships, 13 domestic trade sea vessels, and 6 foreign trade special ships.

According to the latest statistics of the China Automobile Association, Chinese auto companies exported 2.015 million vehicles last year, an increase of 101.1% year-on-year, and SAIC Motor group is "the leader in the industry", "for every three Chinese cars sold overseas, one is made by SAIC Motor". As the only automobile enterprise in China with a systematic, planned and structured "going out", SAIC Motor has established an automotive industry chain integrating R&D, marketing, logistics, parts, manufacturing, finance, and second-hand cars for the global market, laying a solid foundation for the rapid development of overseas business. In 2021, SAIC Motor's overseas sales reached 697,000 units (including 598,000 exports and 99,000 overseas bases producing and selling 99,000 vehicles), winning the top spot in the domestic car company list for six consecutive years, and its products and services landed in more than 70 countries and regions around the world, forming six "50,000-vehicle" regional markets in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Americas, the Middle East, ASEAN and South Asia. Among them, the "China Single Brand Overseas Sales Champion" MG brand overseas sales reached 360,000 units, ranking among the top 10 single brands in 17 countries around the world; as the first Chinese automobile brand to fully cover the European light commercial vehicle electric segment, MAXUS brand overseas sales reached 52,000 units.

SAIC motor has made every effort to tackle key problems in independent research and development, forming innovative technological advantages such as intelligent network connection and new energy, and actively spilling out overseas to create differentiated competitiveness. The "i-Smart" intelligent networking system independently developed by SAIC Motor has been used in more than 30 overseas models, with more than 130,000 activated users; in 2021, SAIC New Energy Vehicles will be "sold overseas" by nearly 60,000 units, actively promoting green and low-carbon travel around the world. In India, after the ASTOR new MG car equipped with intelligent networking function opened pre-sale, 5,000 pre-sale places were all snatched up in 20 minutes, and the deposit order exceeded 11,000 within 2 hours, and it became a "hit" before it was officially listed. In developed countries and regions such as Europe, Australia and New Zealand, independent brands MG and MAXUS sold more than 50,000 new energy vehicles last year, ranking the forefront in the market segments of the United Kingdom, Norway, Sweden, Denmark and other countries.

A strong, safe and efficient global supply chain system escorts overseas production and sales. ANJI LOGISTICS, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, is the world's first auto parts and vehicle logistics enterprise, with a distribution network covering more than 600 cities in China and more than 100 overseas countries, with an annual shipment volume of up to 10 million vehicles. As an important part of SAIC's global supply chain center, Anji Logistics has not only built a strong logistics system covering 30 waterway trunk lines, 130 railway trunk lines and 4900 highway trunk lines in China, but also actively built a transportation network overseas to escort overseas production and marketing. As early as 2016, Anji Logistics took the lead in opening up the first ro-ro international route independently operated by Chinese car companies - China to Southeast Asia, and has successfully built 6 international routes in Southeast Asia, Mexico, South America and West, Europe, providing cross-ocean logistics support for the Chinese and even global automotive industries.

Wang Zemin, general manager of SAIC Anji Logistics Co., Ltd., said that the two ships ordered this time will be put into operation in 2024, and the carrying capacity can reach 7600 international standard size passenger cars, such as products like Passat, which can be loaded to about 5300 units.
