SAIC motor and China Shipbuilding Group officially signed two 7600 ro-ro ship manufacturing agreements

Jiwei Network news, on the evening of January 17, SAIC Motor issued a document saying that the company and China Shipbuilding Group formally signed an agreement, CSSC Jiangnan Shipbuilding will "tailor-made" 2 LNG dual-fuel, low-carbon environmental protection, 7600 parking spaces ocean-going automobile transport ships (ro-ro ships) for SAIC's Anji Logistics, to meet the growing export business needs of SAIC and other independent and foreign brands in China, and accelerate the promotion of high-gold content "China Intelligent Manufacturing" to the world.

As the only automobile enterprise in China with a systematic, planned and structured "going out", SAIC Motor has established an automotive industry chain facing the global market, a strong, safe and efficient global supply chain system, escorting overseas production and marketing, and products and services have landed in more than 70 countries and regions around the world, forming six "50,000 vehicle-level" regional markets in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Americas, the Middle East, ASEAN and South Asia.

Anji Logistics, a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, is the world's no.1 auto parts and vehicle logistics company. As early as 2016, Anji Logistics took the lead in opening up the first ro-ro international route independently operated by Chinese car companies. As the largest domestic automobile enterprise self-operated fleet, it has 31 automobile boats of various types, including 12 river ships, 13 domestic trade ships, and 6 foreign trade special ships.

As for why SAIC Motor should use ro-ro ships to transport vehicles, they explained that ro-ro ships refer to "ships" that use ro-ro to load and unload cargo vehicles through springboards. The decks on ro-ro ships are flat and open, and there are multiple decks below the upper decks, and the decks are connected by ramps or lifting platforms to facilitate vehicle passage. Ro-Ro hull has a very scientific cabin design, high loading and unloading efficiency, but also has the characteristics of low carbon environmental protection and high degree of automation.

According to reports, the dual-fuel ro-ro ship signed this time, with a total area of 9 standard football fields, will take the lead in meeting the relevant requirements of the European Union in 2030, and also customize for intelligent new energy vehicles. The vessel will have 13 decks, four of which will be specially modified for new energy (including hydrogen)vehicles. In terms of intelligent application, integration, speed optimization, pollutant detection, etc., these two ships have breakthroughs, which will help improve efficiency and reduce costs.
