SAIC Signed Contract with China Shipbuilding Expands China's largest "auto company's self-operated fleet"

On January 17, SAIC Motor and China Shipbuilding Group formally signed an agreement that CSSC Jiangnan Shipbuilding will "tailor-made" two LNG dual-fuel, low-carbon and environmentally friendly, ocean-going automobile carriers (ro-ro ships) with 7600 parking spaces for SAIC's Anji Logistics, actively meet the growing export business needs of SAIC and other independent and foreign brands in China, and accelerate the promotion of high-gold content "China Intelligent Manufacturing" to the world. At present, SAIC Anji Logistics has built the largest domestic automobile enterprise self-operated fleet, with 31 automobile ships of various types, including 12 river ships, 13 domestic trade ships, and 6 foreign trade special ships.

According to the latest statistics of the China Automobile Association, Chinese auto companies exported 2.015 million vehicles in 2021, an increase of 101.1% year-on-year. According to the relevant person in charge of SAIC Motor Group, in 2021, SAIC Motor's overseas sales reached 697,000 units (including 598,000 exports and 99,000 overseas bases producing and selling 99,000 vehicles), winning the first place in the export list of domestic car companies for six consecutive years. For every three Chinese cars sold overseas, one is produced by SAIC. As a systematic, planned and established "going out" automobile enterprise, SAIC has established an automotive industry chain integrating R&D, marketing, logistics, parts, manufacturing, finance, and second-hand cars for the global market, laying a solid foundation for the rapid development of overseas business.

SAIC Motor's relevant people said that SAIC's products and services have now landed in more than 70 countries and regions around the world, forming six "50,000-vehicle" regional markets in Europe, Australia and New Zealand, the Americas, the Middle East, ASEAN and South Asia. SAIC motor needs a strong, safe and efficient global supply chain system to escort overseas production and sales. As an auto parts and vehicle logistics enterprise, SAIC's Anji Logistics has a distribution network covering more than 600 cities in China and more than 100 countries overseas, with an annual shipment volume of up to 10 million vehicles. So far, Anji Logistics has successfully built 6 international routes in Southeast Asia, Mexico, South America and West, and Europe, providing cross-ocean logistics support for the Automotive industry in China and even the world. The expansion of the self-operated fleet will help further improve the capacity of Anji Logistics' international routes.
