Filial piety to one's parents is equivalent to offering to the Buddha
The ancient sages said that parents are our first great blessing. To practice filial piety is to plant a blessed field, which is greater than asking God to worship the Buddha. Therefore, filial piety to parents at home, there is no need to burn incense far away. The Buddhist scriptures record that in the year of disaster, many people starved to death, and the Buddha begged for 3 days without food, and those who were hungry could not do it.
At this time, a monk who came to ask about the problem felt that it was not a taste, and thought to himself: The Buddha is a supreme blessing, and all sentient beings support it, so he sold his only rice bowl and clothes and changed it to a bowl of rice to provide for the Buddha.
When the Buddha found out, he told him, "Bhikkhus, the garment is the strength of the Buddhas, and the karma is extremely noble, extremely heavy, and extremely gracious, but you exchange it for food for me to eat, but I don't have such a blessing to consume this bowl of rice, only your parents can consume it."
