"You die, I will be a monk", this is what Baoyu personally said to Daiyu. As a result, Dai Yu really died, and Bao Yu really became a monk. As a result, many readers believe that Baoyu became a monk because Dai Yu died, and he was tired of the world, especially refusing to live with Bao Chao, so he kept his promise and went out of the house.
Every time I see such remarks, I have to admire Mr. Cao Xueqin's cleverness. He wrote two sets of stories with "fake is true and false, there is nowhere to do anything", one is a fake story written on the surface, and the love story of a talented woman satisfies those readers who "love and play idle articles"; the other is a set of true stories written on the back, using the decline of Jia Fu and the enlightenment of Baoyu to warn the world who are immersed in sound and color dogs and horses.

"You die, I will be a monk" is one of the author's blindfold methods, so that those readers who "love to be playful and idle" misunderstand that this is Baoyu's steadfastness to love. In fact, through this sentence, we will find that what really prompted Baoyu to "become a monk" was not Daiyu's death, but the "white expanse of the earth is really clean" after Jia Fu was raided to make Baoyu fully enlightened, thus completing his final growth.
"You die, I will be a monk", these are the words that Baoyu said casually, and even Dai Yu did not believe it.
Bao Yu loves to swear, a person who often hangs his oath on his mouth, and the oath only stays on his mouth, that is, he is said to be heard, and he does not take it seriously. Dai Yu was very clear about this, so she didn't take Bao Yu's oath seriously.
The twenty-eighth time there is a related description:
When Bao Yu heard him put forward the word "golden jade", he did not feel suspicious and suspicious, so he said: "In addition to what others say about gold and jade, I must have this thought in my heart, the heavens are cursed, and the world cannot be human!" When Lin Daiyu heard his words, she knew that he was suspicious in his heart, and he was busy and laughed: "It's not interesting, what oath did you say in vain?" It doesn't matter what gold or jade you have! Bao Yu said, "It is difficult for me to tell you what is in my heart, but I will naturally understand it in the future." In addition to the old lady, the old man, and the wife, the fourth of these three people is the sister. There will be a fifth person, I will also make a vow. Lin Daiyu said, "You don't need to swear, I know that you have a 'sister' in your heart, but just seeing the 'sister', you forgot about the 'sister'." ”
In this passage, Baoyu only said two words, and then he had two vows. This is enough to show that Baoyu takes swearing as a daily routine and opens his mouth to come. It was precisely because Dai Yu understood that he never took the oath seriously that she interrupted him: "You don't need to say the oath, I know that you have a 'sister' in your heart, but just seeing the 'sister', you forgot the 'sister'." ”
"There is a 'sister' in the heart, but just seeing the 'sister', I forget the 'sister'", this is the truth after Baoyu's vows: Baoyu is a person who enjoys the moment, and when he is with his sister, he has a sister in his heart; when he is with his sister, he forgets his sister, and there is only a sister in his heart.
To emphasize this, the author uses "You die, I go as a monk" to reflect it.
The thirtieth time, Baoyu and Daiyu quarreled, and both of them were childish, one talking angrily, and the other coaxing with a smile:
(Dai Yu) couldn't hold back her crying, "You don't have to coax me either." From now on, I didn't dare to get close to the second master, and the second master also went to me. Bao Yu smiled and said, "Where are you going?" Dai Yu said, "I'll go home." Bao Yu smiled and said, "I followed." Dai Yu said, "I'm dead." Bao Yu said, "You are dead, I will be a monk!" When Dai Yu heard this, Dengshi lowered his face and asked, "I think you are going to die, what nonsense!" How many sisters and sisters do you have in your family, Ming'er is dead, how many bodies do you have to become monks? Ming'er, I would like to tell people this to comment. ”
Notice Daiyu's last words, "How many sisters and sisters do you have in your family, Ming'er is dead, how many bodies do you have to become monks?" "The one who knows Baoyu, Mo Ruo Daiyu, she knows too well that Baoyu is a person who "just saw the 'sister' and forgot the 'sister'", so what he said "go as a monk" can say to Sister Lin today, and tomorrow you can say it to other sisters and sisters.
Sure enough, the next day, Baoyu said to the attacker, and did not change a word, "You are dead, I will go as a monk." "Therefore, Dai Yu, who heard it with his own ears, shamed him in front of his face," Lin Daiyu stretched out two fingers, and smiled: "I have become two monks." From now on, I will remember your counts as a monk. ’”
Daiyu's words correspond to the sentence "How many sisters and sisters do you have in your family, Ming'er is dead, and you have several bodies to become monks": I know that you are a person who "saw 'sister' and forgot about 'sister'", was I right? You have so many sisters and sisters, I'd like to help you remember how many times you're ready to be a monk.
Looking at Baoyu's reaction again: "Baoyu listened, knowing that it was he who ordered the words of the day before yesterday, and he just smiled." I didn't feel guilty at all that my heartless vows were punctured, and "I just laughed at myself", which was completely inappropriate.
Bao Yu's smile is also to show Dai Yu: just a joke, don't take it seriously.
Dai Yu died, and Bao Yu did not become a monk, but instead ran a happy marriage with Bao Chao in the "Qi Mei Ju Case".
"You die, I will be a monk to go", according to the plot development of the caizi beauty romance novel, Dai Yu died, Bao Yu should be grief-stricken, and then all thoughts were gray, and there was no way to live a normal life, so he became a monk.
However, Baoyu did not do so. After Daiyu's death, instead of "becoming a monk", he and Baochao managed a happy marriage of "Qi Mei Ju Case".
This is the message that the author reveals to us in the fifth sentence:
The air is facing the crystal snow of Gaoshi in the mountains, and finally he will not forget the lonely forest of the immortals in the world. Sigh in the world, the beauty is not enough to believe in the present. Even if it is a case of Qi Mei, it is difficult to calm down in the end!
"Never forget the lonely forest of the immortals in the world" shows that Dai Yu has passed away at this time, but Bao Yu's life at this time is "insufficient in the ointment", that is, there are some small regrets in the happiness. And these small regrets, the impact on Baoyu is only "difficult to reconcile". "To be a monk"? What does not exist, people are happy, "raise the case together", respect each other, is the most exemplary marriage.
The sudden raid on the house completely crushed Bao Yu and made him fully enlightened and renounced.
I analyzed in the article ""Qi Mei Lifting Case", Jia Baoyu, who has been confronting his father, finally lived like a father", after a series of blows such as economic recession, sister separation, and grandmother's death, under the influence of Baochao, Baoyu gradually "followed the right path", prepared to run marriage well, and took on the responsibility of raising a family and filial piety.
It is precisely because his mentality has undergone a huge change that he and BaoChao can jointly manage the marriage of "Raising Eyebrows".
In the eyes of Baoyu at that time, this was already the lowest valley of his life, those "rich and honorable" lives have gone forever, he must work hard, start all over again, sooner or later can bring a rich life to his family.
Yes, it's just a matter of time, Bao Yu was born with high intelligence and understanding, as long as he is willing to "follow the right path", no matter what he learns, he can learn something famous.
The problem is that God is unwilling to give him any more time, and the sudden raid on his home completely disrupts Baoyu's life plan.
It is not terrible to change from rich to poor, and it is not terrible to have loved ones die, as long as the foundation is still there, there is hope to start all over again.
Raiding the family, what is broken is the foundation, it is the bottom of the pot, Jia Fu not only completely lost its economic resources, but also lost its place of shelter, which was the last straw that crushed Baoyu. Of course, in the end, it was not the loss of financial resources and shelter that crushed Baoyu, but that he had to watch his sisters being taken away one by one, not knowing where they would go or whether they had a future. Perhaps he had also seen his sisters tortured and ravaged, and he was powerless. As Dai Yu wrote in the "Liu Shu Ci": "Marry with the East Wind Spring, don't care, go by your way, endure drowning." ”
Once Baoyu, with the responsibility of "adding glory to the boudoir", he thought that he had the ability to protect these sisters, and he thought that only he could make the sisters live carefree in the world, because only he could treat them gently, only he was willing to make a small low for them. The bloody facts made him completely awaken to how ridiculous his previous thoughts were. Just as Qin Zhong's exhortation before his death: "Before, you and I saw ourselves as superior to the world, but today I realized that I was wrong." In the future, we should also aspire to make a name for ourselves, and take glory as our righteousness. ”
All along, Baoyu has always been "more knowledgeable than the world", looking down on this and that all the time, especially looking down on people who study and pursue fame. At the end of the day, he found that what really protected his sisters was not his small prostrations, not his gentleness and thoughtfulness, but fame and glory. Over the years, the reason why the sisters around him have lived comfortably is because of the fame and glory brought by the brand of "Rong GuoFu". Once he lost the sign, he was nothing, and the sisters had to leave him one by one.
This kind of cognition, for Baoyu, is simply a devastating blow, that is, it completely negates the former self. How high the self-esteem was once, how big the blow is now.
This kind of blow is exactly the same as Liu Xianglian in that year. Liu Xianglian was a very arrogant person, and it turned out that she had actually looked at You Sanjie wrongly, and her knowledge was far less than that of a weak woman. This huge psychological gap made him fully aware, so he "went cold into the empty door".
Baoyu's "cliffhanger" is also "a cold into the empty door". This "cold" is not world-weary, nor is it for someone, but completely sees his own uselessness but thinks too highly of himself, so that he is discouraged, and only the "empty door" is his destination.
If there is no copy of the family, even if the Jia Mansion has declined, but the brand of "Rong Guo Fu" is still there, Baoyu can still socialize under the name of the family prince, and there are still some connections that can be used, and it is easy to succeed if you want to do something. Therefore, Baoyu before raiding the house is still full of confidence in himself, thinking that this is the embodiment of his own ability.
After raiding the house, the sign of "Rong Guo Fu" was gone, and the name of the family prince on Bao Yu's head was also lost, at this time he found that all the connections were gone, and it became difficult for him to even want to beg for hot food, and he could only "choke in the cold winter, and break the felt in the snow night".
From high self-esteem to people seeing people, this huge psychological gap makes Baoyu's mentality change from hot to cold, from full of enthusiasm for the world to discouragement, so under the point of the second immortal of the monk' path, "Because of the color Wukong", he became a monk.
Bao Yu went to be a monk, but instead of shaving his hair and finding a temple to chant like Fang Guan and others, he was "giving up his hands on the cliff", which was a great enlightenment. Therefore, like Zhen Shiyin and Liu Xianglian, there will be no trace of them in the world, just like death, which the Buddhists call "great death."
The author tells us through Baoyu that as a person, we must find our own position, especially not to think too highly of ourselves, and to regard the aura given to us by the external environment as our own ability. Otherwise, once you lose your aura, you will become a waster like Baoyu.
Once Baoyu, living under the aura, can infinitely sound and color dogs and horses, Dai Yu is a small existence in his voice color dog and horse career. Therefore, losing Daiyu, Baoyu only has a little regret, and feels a little "difficult to reconcile". It wasn't until all the aura was lost that he realized that the past of those sounds and colors was really ridiculous, "Whether it is the first dream, all the worlds are empty." He, who had a very high level of understanding and a Buddha's edge, realized that "emptiness" is the eternal existence, so he "went into the empty door" and became a monk.
