Fuzhou, March 1 (China News Network) -- On the 1st, the 29th day of the first lunar month of the Year of the Tiger, it is a unique folk traditional festival in Fuzhou -- the "Nine Festivals of Filial Piety," also known as the "Festival of Filial Piety." The series of activities of the "Nine Festivals of Filial Piety" with the theme of "Respecting the Elderly and Filial Piety" were held in Fuzhou communities and schools in the "Blessed State."

In the traditional customs of the Fuzhou people, in the early morning of the Ninth Festival, every household uses glutinous rice and brown sugar, plus peanuts, red dates, water chestnuts, sesame seeds, guiyuan, white fruits and other raw materials, to cook into sweet porridge, called "Aojiu Porridge", which is used to worship ancestors or give gifts to relatives and friends. The daughter who has been married must also send a bowl of "nine porridge", and some must also add noodles, eggs, pig's trotters, etc., and send them back to their mother's home to honor their parents.

On the same day, a special activity of respecting the elderly was held in the Changpu Community of Linjiang Street, Taijiang District, Fuzhou City. Volunteers from community organizations came to the door to deliver taiping noodles and porridge to the elderly.

Volunteers from Fuzhou Min Theater cooked porridge and shared porridge for the people, sending warm hearts and care. The outstanding actors of the theater bring the newly created wonderful Fujian opera small plays, enter the community, send them to the people, let the elderly take their children to see the play, let the students watch the play at the doorstep of the home, and infiltrate the excellent traditional culture into the soil of the "community".
