What is Chinese's faith? It is to glorify one's ancestors and to remember one's own ancestors.

The "Disciple Rules" say: "The dead are like the things that are born", which pushes the "filial piety into the world" to a philosophical height, that is, we Chinese understanding of life and death, it is equal. There is an idiom called "birth into death", and in China our ancestors have long recognized that from the day of birth, people are actually dying. That is to say, one day we live, we come closer to death. Our philosophy is the philosophy of "life and death together". What does that mean? Life and death are the same. When we look at life and death as equals, we will of course extend to "the dead are like the things that are born." Since it is equal, we must treat the deceased relatives, the deceased relatives, as if they were alive. What are the benefits of this? There are benefits. Because what has gone is only the body and body of our loved one, his subconscious mind will always exist in this universe. When we face our loved ones with the attitude of "doing things to the dead, as if they were alive", our loved ones will also receive a joy and comfort.

"Remember Nostalgia" filmed a program in Ningxia, there is a family surnamed Tuo in South Long Beach, when we went to interview, we found that every household in that village was transformed into a new rural area. This family, surnamed Tuo, is a retired old principal, and their family has also been transformed. But when I went to his house, the furniture of their house had not changed, it was still old furniture, and it was not in harmony with this house. Suddenly I noticed that on top of these old furniture was an old man with white hair and a childlike face. So I asked the headmaster, and I said, "Who are you?" He said: It's his mother. I know why. Then I asked a question, and I said, "Someone else's house has been remodeled, and the furniture has been changed, so why don't you change these furniture?" This principal said a word that made our choreographer team particularly moved. He said: "The house has changed, this is no way, this is in response to the national policy, of course, we are willing to live in the new, the children are willing to change to the new, but these furniture I can not change, I can be the master." These pieces of furniture have not only not been changed, but also placed in the same format and position as the original. Why? When my mother was alive, the furniture was laid out like this, and now I still have this furniture, and when I see this position, I feel that my mother is still in this room. ”

You see, this state of mind of his is actually "the dead, such as the life of the matter", and it feels that his mother is still by his side, still in this room, and has not left. In a deeper sense, Confucius said, "Sacrifice is like being there." When offering sacrifices to the gods, we must feel that the gods are there, and when we worship the ancestors, we must feel that the ancestors are there, so that such sacrifices can be regarded as sincere sacrifices. "The dead are like the living", whether it is remembrance or sacrifice, we treat him as if he were present. In this way, we will get a sense of awe and gratitude in our hearts, which is also the "faith of the Chinese" that the United Nations official Wright calls.

What is Chinese's faith? It is to glorify one's ancestors and to remember one's own ancestors. After studying Chinese culture, Wright said that Chinese actually have faith, but they are ancestral beliefs. Here, he pushed the filial piety of "filial piety into the door" to the belief of our Chinese nation, that is, "the dead are like the life of the people". At this point, we have finished sharing this part of the Disciple Rules, "Entering the Filial Piety".

We will now make a brief review, the "Disciple Rules" starts from the "parent call", we say that this is the cultivation of human action, execution, and reaction. All the way to the point of "the dead are like the things that happen", we will see that there is a logical process of progression. It goes from a person's reflexes, all the way to the feelings, to the moral power behind it, to the tracking power of one's own thoughts, and then to the part of "the dead, such as the life of the matter", including the exhortation power, to the final understanding of life, to the life and death, which is the completion of the value edifice of one's filial piety. That is to say, the highest realm of filial piety to the elderly must finally reach a state of "things that are dead, such as things born", so that we have completed a big lesson of "cautious pursuit of the future" that we have Chinese particularly emphasized.

The so-called "do not forget the original intention, to always have to be" is also. From this, we can also see that the "filial piety to the extreme, through the gods, the light in the four seas, omniscient", in the "Disciple Rules" in the "Filial Piety" at the end of the "Filial Piety" has been echoed. That is to say, when a person honors the elderly and filial piety to the extreme, what kind of life realm will this person have? He will receive the supply of cosmic energy to him, which is what Lao Tzu said, "Man can always be quiet, and the heavens and the earth will return." In other words, a person who honors the elderly, filial piety to the extreme, can also be enlightened, can also return to the face tank, and can also realize what is said in the "University": "Ming Mingde, close to the people, stop at the highest good." We see that there are many enlightened people in history, many people who have achieved essential transcendence, and those who have gained essential power, all of whom have taken the course of filial piety.

Mr. Guo Wenbin has counted the many kindnesses that our parents have dedicated to giving birth to us, such as maternity protection, suffering in childbirth, forgetting worries about having children, and spitting out bitterness and sweetness, and taught us that we must repay our parents with filial piety and filial piety. This is by no means the feudal principle of etiquette that some people think, but precisely the equal treatment between children and parents. Parents are responsible for our birth, responsible for our nursing care, responsible for our growth and education, of course, we should bear the death of our parents, undertake the old support for our parents, undertake the care of our parents in the disease, and undertake the cautious pursuit of our parents. This kind of equal relationship is not an equivalent exchange in the business field, but the original nature of the Heavenly Daoren, which should be so. Just as flowers and fruits return to the earth, all things return to the sun. In fact, the heavenly and earthly grace given to us by our parents, we spend our whole lives, and we cannot reciprocate equally. Therefore, there is a verse that has been sung for eternity, "Whoever says anything will be rewarded with three Chunhui".

Mr. Guo Wenbin also told us from the "Disciple Rules" that the filial piety to our parents before birth can help us create energy, and the filial piety to our parents after birth can also allow us to inherit and carry over energy from our parents and ancestors through the process of "cautiously pursuing the distant future", thus increasing the "energy pool" of our lives.

In short, filial piety can make us mention gratitude, reverence and love, just as the so-called do not forget the original heart, we must always.

Mr. Guo Wenbin:

If we say that we want to find two key words for Chinese culture, one is "filial piety", filial piety to the elderly; the other is "respect", respect for teachers. When the tradition of filial piety and respect for teachers is formed, we know that the dialectic of education is formed. Why? Relatives teach children to respect teachers, and teachers teach children to honor the elderly, as the first track of the "Disciple Rules", it was established. Only when the dignity of the teacher is established can the dignity of filial piety be truly established; when the dignity of filial piety is established, the dignity of the teacher can be truly established. Because it is two sides of the same coin, it is the foundation of the two foundations of the edifice of his personality that we cultivate the child's gratitude, awe, and love.
