The two children were thirteen or fourteen years old at the time, not yet professional athletes, and did not know what they would achieve in the future, but you could feel that they loved the sport of skiing from the bottom of their hearts. As Gu Ailing said, whether to become a professional athlete depends on whether skiing can bring happiness to yourself.
As parents, in addition to giving them material support, spiritual encouragement is equally important as tolerance, and there is no bitterness to force them to practice their skills repeatedly, so that they can enjoy the joy of sports, rather than using sports as a tool to change their destiny. The purposes are different, and the results are very different.
Gu Ailing's mother came to Stanford from Peking University, but she did not require her daughter to go to a prestigious school, but hoped that her daughter would not become a perfect person, because it did not exist.
