In November 1943, the 32nd and 59th Divisions of the Japanese Army, the 5th Independent Mixed Brigade, and the 1st Puppet Army, with a total of more than 10,000 people, were dispatched from Linyi, Mengyin, Laiwu, Linqu and Yishui to "sweep" the Luzhong and Qinghe areas. On the 13th, under the cover of aircraft and artillery fire, the Japanese puppet army first combined to attack the Poli area of the Luzhong base area, and attacked the Daigu of the east of The Slope with more than a thousand people. The Luzhong Military Region of the Eighth Route Army, with 93 commanders and fighters from the Eighth Company of the Eleventh Regiment, defended Daigu by taking advantage of the danger, stubbornly resisted the repeated attacks of the Japanese puppet army during the day, sent combat teams down at night to raid and disturb the Japanese puppet army garrison, and planted mines on the areas where the Japanese puppet army might pass, killing and wounding the Japanese puppet army. Holding back the Japanese puppet army and covering the main force to the outside line, the eighth company stubbornly resisted the repeated attacks of the Japanese puppet army. After the enemy was defeated, the deployment was adjusted, the strength of the troops was increased, and from the 23rd, the day and night shelling was carried out, and the infantry launched a continuous attack and cast poison gas. The Eighth Company fought bravely, repelled the enemy's attacks again and again with melee firepower and rolling stones, stubbornly held its position for 15 days, annihilated more than 200 enemy troops, successfully completed the mission, and safely protruded the encirclement circle of the Japanese puppet army on the night of the 27th.
In this battle, more than 300 enemy troops were annihilated, and the Eighth Route Army only wounded 7 people and killed 2 people, pinning down and consuming the Japanese puppet army, and effectively cooperating with the external troops. After the war, the Shandong Military Region issued a general order to commend the Eighth Company and awarded the glorious title of "Daigu Company".
