Up to now, according to the official statistics of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, among the transportation service vehicles used in the Winter Olympic Games, energy-saving and clean energy vehicles account for 100% of passenger cars and 85.84% of all vehicles, which is the highest in the previous Winter Olympics.
As we all know, the vehicle is extremely demanding for its performance to ensure that it works properly in the cold environment during the Winter Olympics. A large part of the service vehicles in this Winter Olympics are new energy models, including some pure electric models.
The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics is also the first event held in the twin cities, and it is necessary to do a good job in ensuring transportation services during the Winter Olympics, and the requirements for vehicles are also higher. Out of curiosity about these service vehicles, the car looked up the relevant information and found that the service and support vehicles for the Winter Olympics came from Toyota, BAIC and China National Heavy Duty Truck and other groups, of which hydrogen fuel cell vehicles accounted for the vast majority of the proportion, coupled with other low-carbon initiatives, the Winter Olympics will fully achieve carbon neutrality.
First, Toyota's more than 2,000 vehicles serve the Winter Olympics Hydrogen fuel cell vehicle MIRAI 2 debuted
As early as 2015, the IOC reached a sponsorship agreement with the Toyota Group, including vehicles, public transportation services, and mobile product support, which is valid until 2024. Therefore, toyota will also provide service vehicles for the Winter Olympics.
According to Toyota's official website, Toyota has provided more than 2,200 event service vehicles for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
These include Toyota's mirai 2 hydrogen fuel cell vehicle, Kosta hydrogen engine, as well as the pure electric model Yize E jinqing, C-HR EV and hybrid model new RAV4 Rongfang dual engine, Willanda dual engine and Camry dual engine.
It is worth noting that Toyota's self-driving pure electric service car E-palette will also be unveiled during the Winter Olympics to serve Olympic athletes from all over the world.

Toyota's E-palette self-driving car, equipped with an L4 autonomous driving system, was unveiled at the Tokyo Olympics, when it was able to pick up and drop off athletes and workers along designated routes.
The car is equipped with Toyota's latest safety perception technology, including sensor devices such as lidar and high-definition cameras, and through high-precision 3D map technology, it can realize low-speed autonomous driving.
Among these models of Toyota, another noteworthy one is the Toyota MIRAI 2, which debuted in China at the 2021 Ciie Expo and is a hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.

The car is based on the GA-L rear-drive platform, the vehicle quality is 1900kg, and the front and rear counterweight ratio is 50:50. In terms of body size, it is 4975/1890/1470mm in length, width and height, and has a wheelbase of 2920mm.
In terms of power, the MIRAI 2's drive motor has a maximum power of 134 kilowatts (about 182 horsepower), a peak torque of 300 pounds and feet (about 407 Nm), a top speed of 175 km/h, and an acceleration time of only 7.4 seconds from 0 to 60 miles.
As the second-generation MIRAI model, the mirai 2 created by the new GA-L platform can be equipped with three high-pressure hydrogen tanks, which can increase the fuel capacity and range of the new car by 30% compared to the first mirai model.
Currently, MIRAI 2 is equipped with two high-pressure hydrogen storage tanks, which can store 5.6 KG of hydrogen. In addition, the new car also adopts a new material battery technology, equipped with a lithium-ion high-voltage battery, replacing the nickel-metal hydride battery of the old MIRAI.
Compared to the old MIRAI, mirai 2 lithium-ion batteries are smaller, but have a higher energy density, reaching a specific power of 5.4kW/L; higher output power, with a maximum power of 128kW.
The 2022 MIRAI 2 currently has two models sold overseas, the entry-level MIRAI XLE model and the upgraded MIRAI Limited. Of these, the MIRAI XLE's EPA range is 402 miles (about 647 kilometers).
At this stage, the price of the car in Japan is 7.10 million to 8.05 million yen (about 445,000 to 505,000 yuan), and it is reported that the car will be listed in China this year.
At this Winter Olympic Games, mirai 2 will be used as a transportation vehicle to undertake the transportation task of spectators and staff in mountain areas such as Yanqing.
Another hydrogen fuel bus, the Costa Hydrogen Engine, is produced by FAW Toyota. This car is the first domestic hydrogen kinetic energy vehicle jointly developed by Toyota Motor corporation and the Olympic Organizing Committee through cooperation and based on Toyota's electrification technology.
It is reported that the hydrogen fuel cell power system of this car is composed of a 74kW hydrogen fuel cell and a 70MPa high-pressure hydrogen storage system, which can store 8KG of hydrogen and has a cruising range of up to 600 kilometers.
In order to better serve the Winter Paralympic Games, Toyota also provides welfare vehicles for the Use of Kosdar, Hai'ace, Xena and other models for the convenience of people with disabilities.
Second, BAIC Group 542 new energy models on standby Foton provided more than 1200 buses
In addition to Toyota's service vehicles for the Winter Olympics, BAIC Group, as a partner of the "Meet in Beijing" series of winter sports events, delivered a total of 542 vehicles to the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee on December 7 last year for the transportation service guarantee vehicles for the Winter Olympics.
These vehicles will complete the service guarantee work in Beijing and Yanqing during the Winter Olympic Games.
Of the 542 vehicles, there are 330 Beijing EU7 pure electric vehicles and 212 Ouhui hydrogen-fueled buses. It is reported that these more than 200 Ouhui hydrogen fuel buses are equipped with Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell system.

Compared with the Beijing EU7 model sold on the market, the EU7 delivered this time has undergone special technical improvements, which can ensure a stable endurance of 451 km to 550 km under minus 20 degrees Celsius, while ensuring that the comfortable temperature of more than 20 degrees in the car is maintained.
Beijing EU7 is a medium-sized pure electric sedan launched by BAIC in 2019, equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous single motor, with a maximum output of 160kW and a peak torque of 300 Nm. The 2022 Beijing EU7 will be replaced with a ternary lithium battery with a capacity of 60.7 kWh, and the NEDC cruising range will be increased to 475km. In addition, the appearance and interior of the 2022 EU7 are basically the same as those of the 2019 model. At present, there are three models of new cars, with prices ranging from 159,900 yuan to 175,900 yuan.

On January 18 this year, Foton Motor, a subsidiary of BAIC Group, also announced that its hydrogen energy and traditional energy vehicles will be used as the guarantee vehicles for the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.
It is reported that Foton Ouhui will send more than 1200 buses with a total of 7 major models to provide guarantee services for the event, of which nearly 500 hydrogen fuel buses will be set, setting a record for the largest hydrogen fuel bus service fleet, including Ouhui BJ6122, BJ6906 and other hydrogen fuel buses.

Ouhui BJ6122 hydrogen fuel bus is the latest generation of fuel cell bus product specially developed by Foton Motor for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. This hydrogen fuel bus adopts 150kW high-power fuel cell engine and 70MPa hydrogen system, equipped with all-climate extreme cold-resistant power battery, in the extremely cold environment during the Winter Olympics, this bus can achieve minus 30 degrees Celsius extreme cold low temperature start and minus 40 degrees Celsius extreme cold low temperature storage and shutdown automatic protection.
In terms of endurance, the BJ6122 bus only takes 15 to 20 minutes to refuel hydrogen at a time, and can last more than 600 kilometers, which can provide long-term and multi-frequency connection services for the event.
The BJ6906 is equipped with a hydrogen system of 35Mpa, and is also equipped with a full-climate polar cold-resistant power battery, dual-motor non-power interruption drive system, e-AIR intelligent circulation system and many other Self-developed technologies of Ouhui, with a vehicle mileage of more than 400 kilometers, and the same as the BJ6122 model, it can achieve minus 30 degrees low temperature start, minus 40 degrees low temperature storage and automatic protection of shutdown.
In addition, the two Ouhui hydrogen fuel buses are also equipped with "U degree" integrated thermal management technology, which can recycle the waste heat generated by hydrogen fuel cells, use waste heat for interior heating and front windshield defrosting and fog removal.
Third, Sinotruk's self-developed Yellow River snow wax car is equipped with ADAS auxiliary driving system
At this Winter Olympic Games, Sinotruk's Yellow River snow wax truck will be used for service guarantee work in ice and snow projects. It is worth noting that this Yellow River snow wax car is the first intelligent snow wax car with completely independent intellectual property rights in China.

The Yellow River snow wax truck is composed of the Yellow River hydrogen fuel cell semi-trailer tractor and the snow wax semi-trailer, and the Yellow River snow wax truck integrates photovoltaic power generation and energy storage, 5G, industrial interconnection, big data, and artificial intelligence. The cab adopts low wind resistance streamlined technology, and the wind resistance coefficient reaches 0.4 or less.
Intelligent snow wax car is of course indispensable to assist driving, the Yellow River snow wax car is equipped with L2+ level ADAS advanced assisted driving system, making the vehicle driving safer and more intelligent.
In terms of electric performance, the hydrogen fuel cell tractor is equipped with WEF160 hydrogen fuel cell, which is the first 162kW fuel cell heavy truck in China, achieving environmental protection and zero emissions.
In addition, the Yellow River hydrogen fuel cell tractor is also equipped with an electronically controlled ECAS airbag suspension + ultra-low saddle, and the ground height can be reduced to 985mm, reaching the lowest vehicle height in China; the blessing of the Yellow River ultra-low traction head realizes the maximum design of the internal net height of the snow wax carriage body, which meets the work needs of snowboard waxing.
It is reported that after the Winter Olympics, the snow wax car will also serve major international and domestic events.
Conclusion: Hydrogen energy models will accelerate after the Winter Olympics
The development of new energy vehicles is one of the current mainstream trends, among which hydrogen energy vehicles have good environmental compatibility, high energy conversion efficiency, low noise, long mileage, short refueling time, no need to charge and other characteristics, and have great development potential.
As we all know, international competitions have always been an important window for hosts to showcase humanities and technology. All new energy models were used in the Winter Olympics, especially hydrogen fuel cell models, which showed that the country attaches great importance to hydrogen energy models.
In important documents such as the "Outline of the National Innovation-driven Development Strategy" previously released, it is clearly mentioned that hydrogen fuel vehicles should be vigorously developed. By 2030, the mainland will achieve the goal of 2 million hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
