So in recent years, the new energy vehicles that are very popular, how much tires do they use?
Lab test collected 14 new energy models that have recently been extremely hot, and counted the brand, model, specification and price of their top (or optional) tires, and we made a table and presented them together.
I believe that everyone must be most concerned about the price, so we will mark the price of each tire on a well-known domestic e-commerce website in the most eye-catching position.
First look at the brand, the tires used in these new energy vehicles are basically international first-line brands, mainly Michelin, Goodyear, Horse brand, Pirelli these four brands, and we in the ordinary fuel vehicle common Bridgestone, Hankook, Kumho, Youke Haoma and other tire brands, but did not appear.
Secondly, looking at the size, in order to maintain excellent visual effects, new energy vehicles almost all choose large wheels of more than 19 inches, 20 and 21 inches are the main force, and even 22 inches of such an exaggerated diameter.
At the same time, another phenomenon about size is also worth paying attention to, that is, tread width. Generally speaking, the wider the tire, the stronger the grip, so it is favored by traditional fuel performance vehicles.
However, in the field of new energy vehicles, tires with tread widths of 245mm and 255mm are the mainstream.
This is because the wider the tire, the greater the rolling resistance, which is not conducive to the endurance of new energy vehicles, so it can only "endure pain and love".
In some new energy models that focus on athletic performance, engineers adopt a "front and rear tire inconsistencies" design to try to find a balance between energy consumption and grip.
As for the tire flat ratio, most of the above 14 new energy vehicles are relatively conservative, basically between 45 or 50, and pay more attention to comfort.
But there are also some more aggressive tires that will go directly to 40 or even 35 flat ratios, although the improvement of the handling is more obvious, but this tire is extremely "delicate", and a small manhole cover can get it to complete scrap.
The third is the model of the tire, which focuses on performance and handling, and will choose high-performance tires such as the Pirelli Pzero, Michelin PS4, Goodyear Eagle F1 or Horse PC6. Models that focus on comfort, energy saving and durability will choose Michelin Haoyue 4, HORSE brand MC6 and so on.
It's an interesting phenomenon here that some cars also use SUV tires.
The reason is very simple, the weight of new energy models is relatively large, ordinary car tires have not optimized the load-bearing, and SUV tires have a stronger load capacity, so engineers will have such considerations when doing tire matching.
Finally, let's talk about the price of tires, the most expensive tires used in the 14 models this time have a single price of up to 3529 yuan, while the cheapest one is only 1395 yuan, almost 1:3 state.
In fact, the price of tires and its sales are inversely proportional, a tire research and development, mold opening, manufacturing costs are not low, if the sales are higher, then these costs are diluted, so the price of a single strip is very low.
But if you can't sell a few a year, it means that a few hundred cars mainly bear the upfront cost of tires, which will naturally be very expensive.
Back to the High Hehe HiPhi-X car, there are not many models that use Michelin PS EV electric vehicle special tires, coupled with the extremely rare 22-inch diameter, personal estimates that this tire can sell 3-5 hundred pieces a year in the Chinese market, can it be expensive?
