Recently, the China Automobile Dealers Association released the 2021 China Automobile Retention Rate Report.
Because of the shortage of chips, the price of domestic second-hand cars will generally increase in 2021. In other words, the retention rate has also increased compared with previous years.
In this report, the coverage is very broad. Including various countries, major car brands, major car manufacturers and models of all levels, the retention rate is based on three years as the standard.
Because in the whole report, there are a lot of car brands and models covered. In this article, let's first look at the retention rate of each car series and car brand.

Overall, the three-year retention rate of Japanese brands is the highest. Among them, Lexus, Toyota and Honda are in the top three. Lexus' three-year retention rate is 86.75%, and Toyota's and Honda's three-year retention rate is 83.24% and 78.19%, respectively.
Unexpectedly, Nissan's three-year retention rate, which sells very well in China, is only 67.48%, lower than Subaru's 71.03% and Mitsubishi's 69.87%.
Mazda's three-year retention rate is 66.94%, and Infiniti's three-year retention rate is 62.62%, ranking the lowest among Japanese brands.
It should be noted that because Suzuki has withdrawn from the domestic market, it is not within the statistical range.
Among the German car brands, the highest three-year retention rate is Porsche, with 95.42%.
At the same time, Porsche also has the highest three-year retention rate of all car brands.
This is followed by Mercedes-Benz and MINI, with a three-year retention rate of 76.23% and 71.27%, respectively. BMW's three-year retention rate is 70.46%, and Audi's is 68.55%.
Finally, volkswagen and Skoda. The three-year retention rate for Volkswagen is 64.58%, and Skoda is 57.7%.
Among the American cars, the highest retention rate is Tesla, with a three-year retention rate of 64.82%. Buick and Cadillac, with three-year retention rates of 62.45% and 60.51%, respectively.
Ford is in 4th place, with a three-year retention rate of 58.05%.
Jeep and Lincoln's three-year retention rates are basically equal, with the former being 57.96% and the latter being 57.13%.
Chevrolet, also owned by GM, has a three-year retention rate of 53.93%, which is obviously a big gap with Buick.
Among the Korean cars, Hyundai and Kia's three-year retention rate is 62.86% and 62.13% respectively, which is comparable.
Finally, let's take a look at the retention rate of independent brand cars.
In the first place is Wuling, with a three-year retention rate of 70.55%. Lynk & Co is close behind, with a three-year retention rate of 67.17%.
This was followed by GAC Trumpchi, with a three-year retention rate of 65.54%.
Changan Automobile ranked fourth, with a three-year retention rate of 64.28%.
Further down is Baojun, with a three-year retention rate of 63.77%. The retention rate of Wei Pai and Qichen in the three years was more than 62 points.
Haval, Roewe and Geely followed, with a retention rate of 61.57%, 61.21% and 60.82% respectively.
