When Fu Sinian was studying at Peking University in his early years, he enjoyed a high reputation for editing the magazine "New Wave" and promoting new ideas. In 1919, when China's diplomacy failed at the Paris Peace Conference and the university students in Beijing rallied to protest, Fu Sinian was elected as the chairman, carrying a large banner and leading the parade directly to the Zhao Family Building, becoming a famous student leader who shook the north and south. He usually walks on campus with his nostrils facing the sky, and whoever greets him is unreasonable and arrogant.
He does have arrogant capital. Hu Shi returned from overseas and was appointed as a professor at Peking University, and the audience listened to the lectures like a cloud. A good friend of Fu Sinian went to listen to it and came back to him and said, "Dr. Hu is really knowledgeable, so you should listen to it!" Fu Sinian really listened, not only listened, he also asked, between this question and answer, Hu Shi's Khan came down. Hu Shi later confessed frankly that he had discovered that Fu Sinian's roots in traditional Chinese studies were deeper than his, which made him worry when he lectured.
Arrogant people inevitably have to fire cannons and threaten. After the victory of the Northern Expedition, Fu Sinian went to see the old principal Cai Yuanpei for a drink. On that day, Principal Cai took the lead in getting drunk, and then everyone began to race wild talk, but no one was crazy Ephthalm, he said: "Our country is well governed, not only to destroy the Japanese ghosts, but also the Western devils must be driven out of the west of the Suez Canal, from the Arctic Ocean to the Antarctic Ocean (Antarctica), except for India and Persia, there must be counties and counties!" Fortunately, he only works in the university, and if he is in the diplomatic department, this remark must lead to serious diplomatic disputes!"
Talking wildly in private is not lethal, and his "shelling" Kong Xiangxi is really moving. As a member of the National Senate, he impeached Kong Xiangxi, the then chief executive, for corruption, and exposed at the Senate that big officials and big businessmen were specially making money for the country, calling for "punishing corruption to start with big officials"! After Fu Sinian fired two cannons, Kong Xiangxi was eventually bombed out of power, and Song Ziwen, who succeeded him, was later forced to step down because of an article by Fu Sinian — a national suffragan ousted two chief executives at once, which is rare in history.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, many people recommended Fu Sinian as the president of Peking University, but he did not do it, but protected Hu Shi, who was far overseas, but he insisted on being the acting president for a period of time. He believed that such a good old man as Hu Shi could not bear to offend people everywhere, and he wanted to expel those who held false posts during the period of fall, so as to clear the way for Hu Shi to take office. Many people came to fu Sinian to intercede, but he did not allow it: If these people are not condemned, then they are too sorry for the professors and students who have trekked to Chongqing and Kunming, who have abandoned their families and gone to the rear for the sake of national righteousness, without food or drink, is it easy? One word blocked all the interlocutors.
Fu Si came to Taiwan a few years later as the president of National Taiwan University, and the first thing he did was to send a notice to each teacher, saying that he did not necessarily have to listen to the lecture one day, and then he would not be surprised. Teachers are not surprised to listen to lectures, but it is said that every time he listens to a class, teachers are laid off. In Taiwan at that time, there were very few formal jobs, and losing a teaching position meant going hungry. Fu Sinian's use of this trick alone has changed the teaching style and study style of National Taiwan University.
When Fu Si Nian stepped into the ghost gate with one foot, he also left a legendary story in the world. In December 1950, after answering a question raised by Senator Guo Guoji in the provincial senate, he just stepped off the podium and said only one word of "no", then fell unconscious, and never woke up. After that, Li Wanju, vice president of the Senate, announced to the outside world: Mr. Fu has died. The Speaker's Chinese was not very good, and he was heard by some reporters as "angry to death". So the news spread immediately, saying that Principal Fu was killed by Guo Guoji. Guo Guoji was known for his arrogance and domineering, and Fu Sinian also came out of the world under the name of "cannon", and the students of National Taiwan University who deeply loved Fu Sinian were convinced that this was not false, so under the banner of "losing a good teacher", they besieged the provincial senate to clean up Guo Guoji. After many persuasions, the students dispersed.
In fact, during the Republic of China period, the elite gathered, and there were more people than Fu Si Nian's "cattle", but who could be like him who "cowed" for a lifetime?
