The main reason for the price increase of Xiaopeng Automobile is that the subsidy for new energy vehicles in 2022 will decline by 30% on the basis of 2021, this policy has been implemented on January 1, 2022, but Xiaopeng Automobile has announced a "limited-time insurance strategy", announcing that users who buy cars from January 1, 2022 to January 10, 2022 can still enjoy the retail price in 2021, that is, 30% of the difference in slope reduction will be borne by Xiaopeng Company.

In fact, the price increase of new energy vehicles is already a major trend, for three reasons:

First, in 2021, the automotive industry has been plagued by a shortage of chip supply, Xiaopeng Automobile Chairman He Xiaopeng has even publicly stated, "Who can give me chips, I will invite who to drink", the Internet has also exposed the ideal car price increase 800 times from the black market to buy chips rumors, although the ideal car denied, but can also reflect the severe situation of chip shortage.

Second, from the decline of subsidies to the disappearance of subsidies, it is a foregone conclusion. According to the Notice on Improving the Financial Subsidy Policy for the Promotion and Application of New Energy Vehicles issued by the Ministry of Finance in 2020, the subsidy standards from 2020 to 2022 will be reduced by 10%, 20% and 30% respectively on the basis of the previous year. And the subsidy for new energy vehicles will end completely in 2022.

Third, the new energy exclusive car insurance was launched, and the premiums of Tesla and Wei Xiaoli related models also increased. According to a survey by China Consumer Daily, "the price of some high-end models has risen, and the benchmark premium of most models has declined", but there is still a slight increase overall.

Under the superposition of these three factors, the price increase of the new energy automobile industry in 2022 will become a high probability event.

In addition to Xiaopeng Motors, Tesla China has also announced a price increase on December 31, 2021, Tesla China's official website shows that the price of the Model 3 rear-wheel drive version is adjusted to 265,652 yuan, an increase of 10,000 yuan from the previous price; the price of the Model Y rear-wheel drive version is adjusted to 301,840 yuan, which is 21,088 yuan higher than the previous price.
