General Yang Yong: Rong Ma has made great achievements in battle all his life, and when he is seriously ill, he hopes to euthanize and not waste money for him

"He's a perfect man! Neither in military operations nor in terms of style and personality can we find any problems. He thinks of others everywhere, but he always does not think of himself. He is not rich and lustful, and in his life he only sees war and the people, and he never thinks much about his grievances. ”

Yang Xiaoping said this about his father.

In June 1935, Mao Zedong patted Yang Yong on the shoulder and said:

"You are really a fierce general, at the critical moment, there is such a fierce force!"

In October 1935, Mao Zedong praised Yang Yong:

"You are a good comrade in both culture and martial arts."

During the Cultural Revolution, Mao Zedong said on the phone:

"Good you Yang Yong, still as straight, resolute as in the past, with a tiger spirit!"

Admiral Yang Yong

In 1982, Yang Yong suffered from lung cancer, and the cancer spread shortly after the operation. Yang Dezhi went to the hospital to see him, and Yang Yong said:

"You're so busy at work, don't distract me. This is a terminal illness, tell the doctor to stop taking the medicine, it is no longer working, don't waste the country's money for me. ”

Yang Dezhi burst into tears.

His cousin Hu Yaobang visited him, and Yang Yong once again mentioned euthanasia and asked him not to use state resources again. On January 6, 1983, the founding general Yang Yong died of illness.

On October 28, 1913, Yang Yong was born into a poor family in Liuyang County. In 1927, he joined the Communist Youth League, and in 1930, his father fell ill, dropped out of Liuyang County Secondary School unable to afford the tuition fees, and joined the Soviet government of the Eighth District in the same year, thus beginning a legendary career of a lifelong warrior.

From the beginning of the first anti-"encirclement and suppression" campaign to the Long March of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army; from the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, to the War of Liberation, to the Korean Battlefield, Yang Yong made great achievements in battle and left countless scars on his body.

In October 1933, Yang Yong, who was the director of the political office of the 14th Regiment of the 10th Division of the 3rd Red Army, encountered the Kuomintang troops at Xunkou in the Central Soviet District. In the fierce battle, a bullet passed through Yang Yong's scalp, and his face was immediately covered with blood. Yang Yong did not care about the wounds and fought hard until the enemy fell into the wilderness and fled. He received a commendation from Peng Dehuai and a third-class Red Star Medal. However, a two-centimeter-long bullet mark was left on the head, after which the hair refused to grow.

Mao Zedong received Yang Yong

In October 1934, He Jian led an army of 400,000 people to use the Xiangjiang Barrier to encircle 80,000 Red Army troops, but due to Li De's wrong command, the Red Army mistakenly entered the encirclement of the Kuomintang army. At the time of life and death, Yang Yong, political commissar of the 10th Regiment of the Red 40th Division, led his troops to cover the crossing of the central column. The battle was extremely fierce, the regimental commander Shen Shuqing was shot and killed, and the division chief of staff Du Meimei continued to charge and kill, and unfortunately he was shot and killed. Facing the tidal wave of enemies, Yang Yong killed red eyes, and a piece of shrapnel flew in and inserted into his thigh. Yang Yong pulled out the shrapnel, rushed out of the trench and shouted: "Avenge the regimental commander", the soldiers rushed to kill, and the enemy army retreated. In two days and two nights, the 10th Regiment sacrificed more than 400 officers and men and successfully completed the task of covering the central column to cross the river.

In January 1935, at the Battle of Tucheng on the Long March, Liu Xiang surrounded the Red Army with 8 brigades and 9 regiments. Yang Yong, the political commissar of the 10th Regiment, once again led the charge, and in the fierce battle, a bullet penetrated his cheek into his lips, directly knocking out six teeth and leaving a bullet socket in his face.

In September 1937, the flat type passed. The Eighth Route Army clashed with the Japanese for the first time, in the battle with the Japanese army to seize the commanding heights of the Laoye Temple, Yang Yong, the political commissar of the 686th Regiment of the 15th Division, led his troops to engage in a white-knife battle with the Japanese army, and suddenly a bullet hit Yang Yong's left arm, which was the fourth time he was wounded.

In September 1938, Yang Yong led the 686th Regiment to ambush the Japanese transport team from Fenyang to Lishi three times, annihilating more than a thousand enemy troops, and he also hung up the lottery again.

Yang Yong had the deepest relationship with two people in this life, one was Hu Yaobang, who later became the leader of the country, and the other was Yang Dezhi, who was known as one of the "Three Yangs".

Yang Yong and Kim Il Sung

After the Battle of Xiangjiang, Yang Yong, who was wounded in the leg, could only ride on horseback. During a march, he suddenly heard someone on the side of the road calling his name. At that time, because of the urgency of the war, the medical environment was very poor and there was a lack of medical treatment, and many seriously injured people lost their lives because they could not receive timely treatment. Yang Yong heard someone shouting his name, so he got off his horse and limped to the side of the road, and sure enough, he found a familiar face, and the seriously injured person was Hu Yaobang.

At this time, Hu Yaobang, lying on the side of the road, could not walk, and when he was ready to give up hope, he saw Yang Yong. Yang Yong saw the situation and immediately asked the guards to lead the horse over and help his cousin onto the horse, so that Hu Yaobang could complete the Long March. In his later years, when Hu Yaobang recalled this incident, he sighed heavily:

"If General Yang hadn't given me the horse back then, I wouldn't have been able to get out!"

During a battle during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yang Dezhi mistakenly entered the encirclement of the Japanese army and saw that he was in danger of being completely annihilated. Due to the huge disparity in strength between the enemy and ourselves, there was a fierce discussion at the top on the issue of saving or not saving. At this moment, Yang Yong, who was then the commander of the military sub-district, suddenly slapped the table and stood up:

"You don't go, I go."

Yang Yong organized an elite team to enter the enemy's encirclement:

"Old Brother Yang, let's fight out together, we want to live together, we want to die together!"

Yang Dezhi, who was already desperate, saw Yang Yong killed and burst into tears. The two Yang combined, and finally killed a bloody road. Later, Yang Dezhi often mentioned this matter, saying:

"If it weren't for Yang Yong, I would have been gone a long time ago!"

In May 1953, Yang Yong, then commander of the 20th Corps of the Volunteer Army, successfully organized the Battle of Jincheng. After 14 days and nights of fierce fighting, 52,000 enemy troops were annihilated, which effectively cooperated with the political and diplomatic struggle and forced the United States to sign the armistice agreement.

Yang Yong and Montgomery

In 1964, British Marshal Montgomery visited a shooting performance at a certain unit of the Beijing Military Region, accompanied by Yang Yong, then commander of the Beijing Military Region. After the performance, Montgomery was still unsatisfied, he took the semi-automatic rifle in the hands of the soldier and shot it in a reclining position. Montgomery stood up, then handed the gun to Yang Yong and looked at him with a smile. Yang Yong also did not talk, took the gun and shot in a standing position, without firing.

Later, Montgomery said at a press conference:

"Don't fight the Chinese army on the ground."
