Sort out the timeline of "Nameless" and eliminate all kinds of incomprehensible, the core of the story is the Duke of Japan

After the release of "Nameless", some netizens said that they did not understand, on the one hand, it may be because some viewers do not know much about the history of the Wang puppet government, especially the Ministry of Special Services (No. 76), let alone the relationship and contradictions between Wang, Jiang and Japan in the late period of the Anti-Japanese War, and even fewer people know the origin of the Ishihara faction and the Tojo faction.

On the other hand, "Nameless" has a flashback and interpolation design on the story timeline, and the stories of different timelines are told together, resulting in a sense of suspense in time and space, so some viewers are confused.

This article clarifies this story according to the timeline of "Nameless" and eliminates all kinds of "incomprehensible".

I. September 1938

Mr. Ho (played by Tony Leung) is in Guangzhou at this time, hiding in a bomb shelter to withstand the bombing of the Japanese army, his public identity at this time should be a senior agent of the Central Command or Military Command, and his secret identity is the underground party.

One of the pilots of the Japanese bombers bombing Guangzhou brought a Shiba Inu named "Roosevelt" to the plane, and the bomber crashed into the sea on its return, killing both the pilot and the dog.

The pilot, who had a younger brother, was killed in May 1945 after working with other Japanese soldiers to kill Chinese workers in concrete outside Shanghai.

II. 1940

Mr. Ho and his wife Miss Chen (Zhou Xun) come to Shanghai, and Mr. He joins the Wang puppet government secret service department led by his cousin Minister Tang (Dapeng) and serves as the director.

Miss Chen is not working with her husband, she serves as an underground party traffic officer and lives with Mr. Zhang (Huang Lei), an underground party official, both of whom are Director He's downline.

Every time Director He got the information, he would go to the cake shop first, and through the cue action of the clerk taking away a certain piece of cake in the tray, he knew that he should go to the place where the information was handed over this time.

If the outermost piece of cake on the tray was taken, it meant that he had to send the information to the peace bathroom this time.

Director He put the information in the cake box and then put it in the bathroom locker.

Miss Chen then rushed to the peace bathroom to take away the cake box, returned home and took out the information and handed it to Mr. Zhang, a confidential officer who lived in the back room, and then Mr. Zhang sent the information out.

III. 1941

Hiroyuki Mori (actor name), head of the Japanese military secret service in Shanghai, drinks with Minister Tang and Director He.

When he drank too much, Mori Hiroyuki revealed the intelligence that the German army was about to attack the Soviet Union, and he also confessed that he was the Japanese Ishihara faction, hoping that the Kwantung Army could use Manchuria as a base to attack the Soviet Union with the German army from east to west.

The Ishihara faction is the collective name of a group of Japanese soldiers led by Ishihara Guan'er, who planned the 918 Incident, and his strategic plan was to occupy and consolidate Manchuria, and then slowly encroach on China.

After the outbreak of the July Seven Incident in 1937, the Ishihara faction opposed the expansion of the full-scale war of aggression against China, and the then Japanese Prime Minister Sugiyama Moto, declared that he would solve the problem in three months, and finally won the support of the emperor, which expanded the war and plunged the Japanese army into the quagmire of war.

Ishihara and Hideki Tojo were not only strategically opposite, but also had a-for-tat personal relationship, so there was a contradictory relationship between the Ishihara faction and the Tojo faction.

The German attack on the Soviet Union was in line with the strategic concept of the Ishihara faction, and Mori Hiroyuki was very happy and drank too much nonsense.

Miss Jiang, a famous lady in Shanghai, is Minister Tang's lover, but her real identity is a female agent of the Central Authority, who was exposed during the mission of assassinating Minister Tang, and was arrested by Minister Tang and interrogated by Director He.

After interrogation, Director He handed Miss Jiang a package, saying that it was a snack sent by Miss Jiang's mother.

Miss Jiang had close contacts with the Japanese military high-ranking officials, so Sen Hiroshi was reluctant to kill her, but he was unwilling to intercede with Wang Jingwei for Miss Jiang's sake, and Minister Tang demanded that Miss Jiang must be executed before sunset.

Miss Jiang thanked Director He for the snack box, which contained a catalogue of Japanese dignitaries in Shanghai.

There is a question here, does Miss Jiang know the true identity of Director He?

In principle, Miss Jiang should not know Director He's underground party identity, but the "list of important people" is a Japanese secret document, and it is also an important piece of information for the Wang Puppet Special Service Department.

Of course, Miss Jiang is Minister Tang's lover, and it is not ruled out that Minister Tang knows the identity of Director He, so Miss Jiang also knows that she is also an agent and has sensitivity in this regard.

The question came again, since Director He took Miss Jiang's "list of important people", did he kill Miss Jiang?

killed, on the one hand, the prototype of Miss Jiang is very clear, that is, the historical female agent of the Central Unified Zheng Pingru, the ending of such a famous historical figure generally cannot be changed casually in film and television dramas.

On the other hand, judging by the wasteland background given by "Nameless", Miss Jiang's tears, and Director He's painful expression, Miss Jiang is still dead after all.

In December, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, the Pacific War broke out, Japan declared war on Britain and the United States, and then the Japanese army stationed in Shanghai entered the isolated island of the Shanghai concession, and two years later, the French Concession under the jurisdiction of the Vichy government was also handed over to Japan.

As a result, Mr. Li, the head of the Shanghai underground party who lives on Xiafei Road, and Miss Chen and Mr. Zhang, who live on Pétain Road, are also in danger of being arrested by the Japanese army and Wang puppet agents at any time.

PS: Xiafei and Pétain were both famous French generals and marshals of World War I.

Many of the historical Wang puppet government officials began to realize that Japan would lose and find a way back for themselves at this time, and Minister Tang's prototypes, Zhou Fohai and Ding Mo Estate, began to contact the military system after the outbreak of the Pacific War.

IV. November 1944

Wang Jingwei died of illness in Japan, and the core figures and spiritual leaders of the Wang puppet government were gone.

The Japanese army had no chance of victory in the Pacific theater, but in the second half of the year, the Japanese army severely damaged the Kuomintang army in the Yuxiang-Gui Campaign, giving Chongqing a humiliating "Yuxiang-Gui Great Rout", and it was also from this great rout that the United States began to realize that it could not count on the Kuomintang army to expel the Japanese army, and the United States wanted to pull the Soviet Union to participate in the war to attack the 700,000 Kwantung Army entrenched in the northeast.

Wang, Jiang, and Japan were in a bad situation, so "Nameless" arranged a secret three-way negotiation, with Minister Tang representing the Chongqing side, and he could also represent Wang.

The Japanese were conditional on the withdrawal of troops to be negotiated, but only to the state before the July Seven Incident in 1937, that is, to retain the puppet Manchukuo, and then they concentrated their forces against the US military to protect the mainland.

Chongqing did not agree to give up Manchuria, but on the one hand, their strength did not allow it, and on the other hand, they feared that the Soviet Union would enter the war and occupy Manchuria, so they were likely to agree to this condition of the Japanese army.

The reason why Mori Hiroyuki, as the head of the Japanese secret service, acquiesced to Minister Tang riding the wall and supporting their negotiations was that restoring the war to the state it was in 1937 was one of the strategic ideas of the Ishihara faction.

"Nameless" specifically mentions that Mori Hiroyuki is the Ishihara faction, in order to pave the way for this secret negotiation.

V. May 1945

The previous plots are basically the prologue of the story, and the real core plot of "Nameless" is concentrated in May 1945.

Oyama, alternate duke of the House of Lords of Japan, a young soldier wearing glasses who was serving in Shanghai at this time, rode his bicycle with five Japanese soldiers to patrol the countryside.

While searching for water, Duke Oyama accidentally found several Japanese overseers thrown into the well, and the Japanese soldiers buried all the Chinese workers present alive with concrete in retaliation.

In the evening, several Japanese soldiers camped on the beach, one of whom told of his brother, who was an aviation officer, who fell into the sea during the bombing of Guangzhou in 1938, and the Duke of Oyama announced his identity, but the other Japanese soldiers did not believe him.

The prototype of Duke Oyama should be two Japanese, one is Azusa Oyama, the grandson of the famous Japanese marshal Oyama Iwa, who served as a cook in World War II. The other is Fumitaka Konoe, son of Japanese Prime Minister Fumima Konoe, who served as a soldier and was almost kidnapped by Zheng Pingru (Miss Jiang of "Nameless") while in Shanghai.

Minister Tang told his cousin Director He that Wang Jiangri's secret negotiations were very promising to reach an agreement.

Director He believed that this conspiracy must be stopped, so he took out the "Directory of Japanese Residents in Shanghai" left to him by Miss Jiang, and then passed the information of the Japanese Duke of Oyama to the underground party.

Mr. Zhang, an underground party official, went to the dock to contact other comrades, drove a truck with machine guns to the beach, and killed all six Japanese soldiers, including Duke Oyama.

Sen Bozhi received the news that the Duke had an accident, and he sent Captain Wang (played by Wang Chuanjun) and Secretary Ye (played by Wang Yibo) to the beach to check the situation.

Captain Wang advised Secretary Ye that the Japanese soldiers were dead, so there was no need to worry, and it was too late to go after eating breakfast slowly.

The killing of the duke angered the Japanese military high-level, Wang Jiang and Japan negotiations went bankrupt, the Japanese army was eager to find the person who killed the duke to retaliate, Mori Hirozhi was unwilling to apologize, and could only bear great pressure.

The Japanese army discovered a secret liaison station of the underground party, and Mori Hiroyuki took Secretary Ye and a group of soldiers to kill everyone in the contact station, while Captain Wang was celebrating his father's birthday at home, which aroused Mori Hirozhi's suspicion.

Secretary Ye and Miss Fang have a marriage contract, but Miss Fang is an underground party, and she hopes that Secretary Ye, who is a traitor, dies, which makes Secretary Ye very sad, and in anger, he wounds several Japanese soldiers.

Taking advantage of Secretary Ye's absence, Captain Wang kidnapped Miss Fang in the middle of the night, defiled her and killed her, and then deliberately threw the newspaper that published Miss Fang's murder under Secretary Ye's desk, which once again angered Secretary Ye.

Captain Wang is jealous of Secretary Ye's origin, and at the same time has a traitor mentality of fox fake tiger power, he killed and defiled Miss Fang is a pathological psychology, and then he wants to use Miss Fang's underground party identity to attack Secretary Ye.

Sen Hiroshi discovered the underground party's liaison station at the dock, he tested Secretary Ye for the first time, asked him to go to the dock to see, Secretary Ye did not move, and his appearance caused the underground party to be alert.

When Mr. Zhang learned that the dock liaison station was exposed, and then thought of the other comrades at the liaison station who had been killed before, he was scared and wanted to leave, but he was reluctant to get along with Miss Chen, a traffic officer who had been with him for five years.

Mr. Zhang persuaded Miss Chen to leave with him, but was refused, and found that Miss Chen had a husband, and he was angry and prepared to rebel, he took Miss Chen's gun and called Minister Tang.

Sen Bozhi deliberately sent Director He to Mr. Zhang to try to test him one last time.

When Director He registered Mr. Zhang's information, he found that the problem was very serious, and Miss Chen was also very dangerous, so he immediately executed the traitor Mr. Zhang.

However, Director He also exposed his identity by executing the traitor, and he decided not to run away and let another lurking comrade, Secretary Ye, play a scene with himself to help Secretary Ye gain a higher trust.

Mori's application for retirement was rejected by the Japanese military leadership, and at the dinner, he signaled Secretary Ye to get rid of Captain Wang. Sen Bozhi suspected that Captain Wang was an underground party, and he asked Secretary Ye to kill Captain Wang can also be regarded as the second test for Secretary Ye.

Director He's identity was exposed, Secretary Ye went to Miss Chen's apartment on Pétain Road to arrest Director He, and the two fought to the death, and finally Secretary Ye captured Director He alive and sanctioned Miss Chen even though he was seriously injured.

Secretary Ye's capture of Director He was the third test given to him by Sen Bozhi, and after successfully passing it, Secretary Ye finally gained Sen Bozhi's trust, and Sen Bozhi was ready to take him to Manchuria and show him the Manchurian defense map.

Minister Tang knew too many secrets, and his position was too speculative, which led to his secret execution.

6. August 1945

After Japan's defeat and surrender, Director He walked out of the cell and saw Mori Hiroyuki and Secretary Ye who were arrested in prison, and he was crazy and wanted to climb into the car and beat Secretary Ye, causing Mori Hiroshi to laugh.

Okamura Ninji, commander of the dispatch army stationed in China, who appreciated Morihiroshi's reactivation, was reactivated by the Kuomintang, and Morihiroyuki in prison refused to return, and he would soon be prioritized for repatriation and prepare to live in peace.

Secretary Ye killed Mori Hiroyuki with a razor, and told him before Morihiro's death that it was the Manchurian defense map that caused the Kwantung Army to be defeated in the northeast and murderous.

VII. 1946

In Hong Kong, Secretary Ye saw Miss Chen at the coffee shop, he ordered a cup of coffee for Miss Chen and turned away.

On the streets of Hong Kong, Secretary Ye stumbled upon a Shanghai restaurant run by Captain Wang's parents, who fled to Hong Kong as a family member of Wang pseudo-spies after the victory of the War of Resistance.

Secretary Ye and Director He reconnected, and the identities of their comrades-in-arms were officially exposed.

On the whole, the core of the entire "Nameless" story is not the two male protagonists Director He and Secretary Ye, but the Japanese duke.

Minister Tang organized secret negotiations between Wang and Jiang and Japan, and Director He wanted to sabotage the negotiation plot by killing the duke to anger the Japanese.

The "Directory of Japanese Residents in Shanghai" was provided by Miss Jiang, from which Director He found the duke's information and handed it to the underground party.

Miss Chen retrieves the information, and Mr. Zhang contacts other comrades to kill the Duke.

The Japanese top brass was angered to withdraw from the negotiations, and Minister Tang, who had lost his value, was silenced.

Sen Bozhi was blamed for the killing of the duke, and under pressure, he retaliated against the underground party, which directly led to Mr. Zhang's rebellion.

Director He silenced the traitor Mr. Zhang, exposed himself, and acted with Secretary Ye to gain him higher trust.

Captain Wang is suspected by Sen Bozhi for not appearing at the scene of the raid on the underground party liaison station, and Secretary Ye takes the opportunity to get rid of Captain Wang, who killed his fiancée, to avenge Miss Fang.

So, basically every major character in Nameless is related to the killing of the Japanese duke, and that Japanese duke is the central flashpoint of the story.
