At that time, I was on vacation in my hometown, and a telegram from the regiment recalled me from my hometown, asking me to revise and familiarize myself with the exhibition of regiment history, and preparing for the general secretary to introduce the history of the regiment when he visited the exhibition of regiment history.

At the 50th anniversary of the regiment, General Secretary Hu Yaobang delivered an important speech. This is also rare in the history of our army.

About this speech, there were many stories later deduced.

It is said that General Secretary Hu's speech at the 50th anniversary of the founding of the league at that time was his own doing. At that time, it was fashionable to watch videos. When the chief of the army goes down, the best reception at night is to watch the video. General Secretary Hu came to Tianshui to investigate, lived in the army, and was active at night, so naturally it was indispensable to watch videos.

However, looking at it, the general secretary was gone. At first, everyone thought he had gone to the toilet, but they didn't care. Later, wait, wait, wait! After waiting for a long time, I still didn't see him come in to watch the video. At this time, the accompanying leader had some hairs in his heart. They thought to themselves, what did the general secretary do?

So, I hurried out to find him. Don't look for it, don't know, this look, really scare everyone. It turned out that after General Secretary Hu left the conference room on the second floor of the division where the video was watching, he went straight to the duty room of the Political Department located at the top of the stairs on the second floor, where he was going to find a thicker piece of white paper. Then go back to the room and prepare the speech at the 181st regimental celebration the next day.

At that time, most of the writing paper used by the troops was 35 or 40 grams of thin manuscript paper, and when the chief asked him for a thicker piece of white paper, the duty correspondent of the Political Department panicked for a while. He rummaged here, looked there, and couldn't find it for half a day when he rummaged through boxes and cabinets. Therefore, he took the opportunity to tear off the back cover of the glorious traditional textbook printed by the General Political Editor and handed it to the general secretary.

General Secretary Hu took the book cover given to him by the duty correspondent of the Political Department, returned to the room, and began to draft the speech.

In fact, General Secretary Hu's speech at the 50th anniversary of the 181st Regiment was prepared for him by the secretary. However, after he read it, he felt that he was not too addicted, so he personally started to draft it.

After General Secretary Hu had written the speech, he was alone in the room, facing the mirror, holding up a gesture while practicing his speech.

General Secretary Hu's speech is about 300 words, and as of now, I still clearly remember the opening sentences, "Comrades: I and the comrades of the Secretariat of the Central Committee have come to Tianshui to investigate, and hereby come to visit you..." Immediately after, he turned sharply and said a few "I hope you" in one breath.

After General Secretary Hu left, the regiment made a layout of his speech and inscription at the 50th anniversary of the regiment and hung it on the wall of the conference room of the regiment's party committee to spur and motivate the whole regiment.

General Secretary Hu was in Tianshui and had been living in the headquarters of the 61st Division. One evening, Wang Zhaoguo, secretary of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee who accompanied him to Tianshui for an inspection, took his entourage to the Tianshui Municipal CPC Committee to convey General Secretary Hu's instructions. However, when he returned to the army, he encountered trouble.

The sentries on duty at the gate of the division headquarters stopped the vehicle that Secretary Wang Zhaoguo was riding in, and they were not allowed to enter the compound of the division headquarters. They came down to negotiate with them, and the sentry on duty went back and forth with only one sentence, there are important chiefs here, and all personnel and vehicles are strictly forbidden to enter. They asked the sentry, can they make a phone call? The sentry on duty answered the call in the division's duty room and handed them the microphone very politely.

When the divisional duty cadre heard that the sentry on duty at the gate had stopped Wang Zhaoguo's car, secretary of the Secretariat, he immediately panicked. Complaining that the guard sentry was not brainy, he poked a big leak. After the leaders of the division knew about it, they hurried to come forward to explain. On the contrary, Wang Zhaoguo and his party were very satisfied with this, and they praised the guards and sentries of the division for being very responsible. Early the next morning, Wang Zhaoguo instructed his entourage to go to the Xinhua Bookstore in Tianshui to buy books and personally send them to the duty post of the division headquarters to show respect and praise for the guards and sentries.

General Secretary Hu came to the regiment, and regarding the inscription, at that time the regiment arranged three points, one was the regiment history museum, one was the ninth company, and the other was the fifth company. The regiment prepared pens, ink and paper for these three places in advance. After General Secretary Hu gave a speech on the 50th anniversary of the celebration of the regiment, he went straight to the Ninth Company, where he inscribed "Carry forward the spirit of diamond drilling and make new contributions to the four modernizations!" The inscription, after coming out of the Ninth Company, passed through the regimental playground and came to the Fifth Company, where it was inscribed "Defend the Great Northwest and Build the Great Northwest!" " inscription.

There is also a small episode about the inscription. At that time, everyone was really shocked. The 181st Regiment was a Red Army unit founded in Huang'an, Hubei Province in January 1933 (supposedly, now changed to 1925) as the 244th Regiment of the 82nd Division of the Red 28th Army. In October 1934, after the Long March of the Central Red Army, the Red 28th Army continued to stay in the Eyu-Anhui Soviet Region and persisted in guerrilla warfare for three years. In 1942, during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the regiment was awarded the honorary title of "Diamond Diamond" and was approved as the Red Army by the Central Military Commission in 1972. This was the only Red Army regiment in the Lanzhou Military Region at that time. At that time, the flag clearly read "Golden Steel Diamond", and for decades, everyone had been thinking so, and no one raised doubts.

However, General Secretary Hu's inscription reads "Diamond Diamond". Everyone thought that the general secretary had made a mistake and wrote it differently. What to do? None of the leaders present dared to say a word. After General Secretary Hu left, he opened the dictionary and checked it correctly to find that it was not That General Secretary Hu made a mistake and wrote the words away, but that decades ago, our predecessors made a mistake and wrote the words differently. At this time, although the aliases on the flags in the regiment could not be replaced or replaced, from then on, everyone began to write diamonds when writing diamonds.

This is September 2015, during the military parade commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the honorary troops hit the "diamond diamond" flag. She not only represents the Diamond Red Army, but also represents the Red 28th Army and the Second Division of the New Fourth Army.
