During a battle, Yang Dezhi accidentally fell into the enemy's encirclement and was seriously injured. At that time, after the news spread, our generals were discussing whether to go to the rescue. After all, the Japanese army was very strong at that time, and even if it went to the rescue, it was not necessarily successful. This made everyone very entangled, but at this time, Yang Yong had already led his troops to the battlefield and successfully broke through the enemy's encirclement to rescue Yang Dezhi. Although Yang Yong's troops suffered heavy losses, after all, they successfully rescued Yang Dezhige, otherwise the losses for our army were quite large.
Later, every time Yang Dezhi talked about this matter, he would say with tears in his eyes: "Yang Yong gave me a second life!" It can be seen how much Yang Yong attaches great importance to his comrades-in-arms, but Yang Yong is originally such a person, and he often thinks of others. During his revolutionary career, General Yang Yong was wounded dozens of times. The worst one was in January 1935. At that time, Yang Yong led the team to attack the Chishui River, he was hit by an enemy bullet during a charge, and his subordinates saw his state at that time and wanted to carry Yang Yong down to heal his wounds. However, he was stopped by Yang Yong and told them not to delay the fighter, he didn't have much to do.
According to the recollections of later guards, General Yang Yong was covered in blood at that time, and he fainted after the end of the war. For the governance of the army, Yang Yong has his own set of methods. In November 1945, the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region established the Seventh Column, with Yang Yong as its commander. At that time, because the column had just been established, this made the combat effectiveness of the team very poor. Many cadres were worried that the combat effectiveness of this unit would not go up, but Yang Yong did not care at all. In his understanding, the combat effectiveness of the troops is not innate, but is fought through one battle after another. Sure enough, under the leadership of Yang Yong, the combat effectiveness of this team has undergone great changes.
