List of Guangdong-born generals!
As we know, Guangdong was the birthplace of the Great Revolution, and the Northern Expedition War refers to the revolutionary war against the Beiyang warlords launched by the Guangdong Nationalist Government from 1926 to 1927, that is, the Northern Expedition war started from Guangdong! Moreover, Guangdong also gave birth to the first new type of army officer school, that is, the Whampoa Military Academy! It can be described as the cradle of the revolution!
As you can see in the picture below, Guangdong has a total of 137 republican generals, including Marshal Ye Jianying, as well as 1 general, 11 lieutenant generals and 124 major generals!
It is worth mentioning that in 1955, when the title was awarded, there were 16 founding generals from Guangdong, of which Meizhou City accounted for 8! They are Marshal Ye Jianying, Lieutenant General Xiao Xiangrong, Lieutenant General Zeng Guohua, Lieutenant General Deng Yifan, Major General Yang Yongsong, Major General Yang Huitu, Major General Zeng Jianxiu, and Major General Ye Songsheng!
