During the Liberation War, he served as the political commissar of the Anyang Garrison Headquarters, and when he was cleaning up the remnants of the bandits, he captured Wang Sanzhu, the leader of the bandits in northern Henan, alive, and stabilized the social order for the people.
In 1953, he led his troops into Korea and served as the director of the political department of the Artillery Headquarters of the Chinese Volunteer Army.
