On January 6, 2022, the UNI-K iDD, the first PHEV plug-in hybrid model of the Changan UNI sequence, officially announced the opening of pre-sale at the Haikou Auto Show, launching two models with a pre-sale range of 17.69-19.29 million yuan. The new car consists of a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T Blue Whale hybrid engine and electric motor, as well as a power battery.
As the first plug-in hybrid SUV model equipped with the Blue Whale iDD hybrid system, The Changan UNI-K iDD only has some details in terms of appearance, and the overall appearance is luxurious.
In terms of appearance, the Changan UNI-K iDD is consistent with the fuel version of the model, showing a sci-fi and avant-garde design style, such as a borderless grille, a lightning-shaped headlight group, a Y-shaped daytime lamp, and a unique high-level brake light at the rear. The difference is mainly in the slight differences such as the charging socket on the side of the car and the bilateral exhaust of the decorative elements.
In terms of interior, the new car still adopts the design of the fuel version model, still adopts a more avant-garde central control layout, and uses a combination of three LCD instrument screens + large-size floating central control screens. Compared with the fuel version, the iDD version adds a power source module to distinguish it from the fuel version model. In addition, in terms of space size, the wheelbase of 2890 mm and the use of a five-seat layout form, so the rear seat space is very spacious and comfortable, in the first echelon of the same class. In terms of vehicle and machine systems, UNI-K iDD uses MediaTek MKT8666 octa-core chip, which makes the car-machine system not cater and can support the system to continuously upgrade OTA.
In terms of power, Changan UNI-K iDD is equipped with a Blue Whale 1.5T hybrid special engine, and forms a plug-in hybrid system with an electric motor and a power battery. The engine has a maximum power of 170 hp and a maximum torque of 260 Nm. In addition, the maximum power of the new car's electric motor is 116 hp and the maximum torque is 330 Nm. Traditionally, the new car is mated to a Blue Whale triple-clutch electric drive transmission. In the power battery section, the new car is equipped with a ternary lithium battery pack with a capacity of 30 kWh. The official NEDC comprehensive endurance of the new car is 1100km, and the endurance of the pure electric NEDC is 130km.
