On May 6, Changan Automobile held a challenge activity with the theme of "Whale Flying Sky" with the theme of Attack blue whale-blue whale iDD hardcore challenge, showing the technical strength of blue whale iDD hybrid system to the market.
Blue Whale iDD Hybrid System (intelligent Dual Drive) is a set of global intelligent oil-electric dual-drive system launched by Changan Automobile, the so-called global refers to "full speed domain, full field domain, full temperature domain, full time domain", which can be platformized and applied to all models of A-class-C class.
Accepting the challenge was the UNI-K iDD, the first PHEV model in the UNI sequence of Changan passenger cars, and the first model equipped with the Blue Whale iDD hybrid system. The car went on sale on March 10 and has two configurations. Among them, the premium type is priced at 176,900 yuan and the premium type is priced at 192,900 yuan.
The UNI-K iDD is a medium-sized plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with a plug-in hybrid system consisting of a Blue Whale NE 1.5T hybrid engine + a triple-clutch electric drive transmission + a high-energy battery pack. The comprehensive output power of the system is 210kW, and under the condition of NEDC, the maximum cruising range of a single full oil full power reaches 1100km, and the fuel consumption of 100 kilometers under the condition of power shortage is only 5L.
The total energy of the power battery is 30.7kWh, and the vehicle has a pure electric endurance of 130km under NEDC conditions. The power battery supports AC/DC charging, and in DC fast charging mode, it takes about 30 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%. It has an external discharge function, the discharge power can reach 3.3kW, in the camping can use coffee machines, juicers, hot pots and other camping life appliances that can be taken out
In this challenge, UNI-K iDD successfully passed 3 difficult challenges.
The first is "Whale Heartbeat - Blue Whale iDD Challenge Free Landing", which tests the response speed of the vehicle when starting and the acceleration ability after starting. The rule is that the vehicle passes quickly under two upside-down water balls, and a sharp object mounted on the roof of the vehicle breaks the water balloon in an instant as the vehicle passes, and if the falling water is not poured heavily on the body, the challenge is successful.
From the above picture, when the UNI-K iDD drove under the water ball, the water ball was punctured and the water column poured out, but at this time, the vehicle had already passed, and the body was not dripping, and the challenge was successful. This challenge demonstrates the powerful acceleration performance of the Blue Whale iDD system.
The blue whale iDD system is equipped with a motor peak power of 85kW, a peak torque of 330N·m, a motor torque response of milliseconds, an acceleration time of 8.1s from zero to 100 kilometers, and a maximum speed of 200 km/h. After starting in pure electric mode, the acceleration of the initial stage can reach 0.6g, which is very fast, so it is very good to complete the challenge of this project.
Next is the "Whale Battle" link, the vehicle passes through the cobblestone road, broken road, bumpy road and other rough roads, and the challenge personnel complete the maze ball game in the car, this challenge tests the smoothness of the continuous output of the blue whale iDD power and the stability of the body.
UNI-K iDD also successfully completed the project. Because the Blue Whale iDD hybrid system adopts a three-clutch electric drive transmission, it can intelligently select the drive mode according to the road conditions, ensuring that the output of the motor and engine is smooth and smooth, coupled with the front McPherson independent suspension and the rear multi-link independent suspension used in the vehicle, the vibration filtering ability is very strong, and also ensures the comfort of the occupants in the car, thus ensuring the smooth passage of the challenge of this project.
Finally, "Whale Out of the Sky: Blue Whale iDD Conquers the Limit Slope", the vehicle impacts the 30% and 40% limit ramps of the Chang'an Automobile Mat River Proving Ground, the slope corresponding to the slope angle reaches 16.5° and 21.8° respectively, the slope is accompanied by the increase of height and slope, the challenge difficulty rises exponentially, and the test is the low torsional output performance of the vehicle.
In the end, UNI-K iDD also easily climbed these two ramps, and for the second time carried four occupants.
When climbing steep slopes, the Blue Whale iDD system is a hybrid mode, 1.5T hybrid special engine, motor and three-clutch electric drive transmission system power, the system power transmission efficiency is as high as 97%, the comprehensive torque is 590N·m, to ensure a strong and sustained low torque output, from the live video, it is very easy to climb the 30% and 40% of the ramp.
The UNI-K iDD has three driving modes: HEV, EV and i-X. In the i-X mode, users can choose "Surging Power", "Buddhist Long Endurance" and "Camping Mode" according to their needs, and they can also customize each option. In the "surging power" mode, the engine and the electric motor work together to drive the vehicle, providing a more passionate driving experience. Based on core technologies such as the Blue Whale triple-clutch electric drive transmission, the UNI-K iDD has basically the same power performance whether it is full or fast, and it can easily accelerate overtaking. Camping mode is similar to the power retention function, which maintains the battery level at 70% SOC for more calm in post-external discharge.

This challenge activity intuitively demonstrated the power performance and NVH performance of blue whale iDD, and received good results. Changan Automobile officially said that "Whale Flying Sky" is the first stop of the Blue Whale iDD hardcore series of challenges, which means that there are more challenges to prove the technical strength of the system.
Judging from the actual sales data, UNI-K iDD performed well after its listing on March 10. In March, the sales of 20 days, the number of insurance reached 1502, more than the fuel version of UNI-K 1308 vehicles, showing that the market's acceptance of this plug-in hybrid SUV is still relatively high, with the full rollout of sales, it is expected that future sales will be higher, EV century will continue to pay attention to its performance.
