The Academy of Fine Arts is an important force to promote the development of art creation and inherit the spirit of Chinese art. Since the founding of New China, art academies across the country have become an important position for art creation and theoretical research, playing a role in demonstration and guidance. At present, in terms of the whole country, in addition to the National Academy of Painting of China, which is directly under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the provincial painting academies under the supervision of the cultural departments of various provinces, there are also many municipal public painting academies distributed throughout the country, all of which are public welfare cultural institutions. There is no doubt that the setting and linkage of art academies at all levels in various places constitute a professional team to promote the development of Chinese art. The academy provides a stage for artists to display their artistic talents, and artists, with the support of the government and the organization of the academy, devote themselves to art creation and research.

It is the mission of the artists of the National Academy of Painting to record the historical development, reflect the great changes of the times, and display the image of the home country with art creation; it is the responsibility of the artists of the National Academy of Painting to base themselves on the current artistic context with a broad vision and carry out multi-faceted artistic exploration in extensive observation; it is the responsibility of the artists of the National Academy of Painting to actively devote themselves to art creation and research, and to promote the prosperity and development of China's art cause. The "National Academy of Fine Arts Exhibition", which is held every two years, is a great review of the mission, responsibility and responsibility of the artists of the National Academy of Painting, a comprehensive presentation of the systematic art creation and academic research results of the National Academy of Painting, and an extremely important role and practical significance for strengthening academic exchanges and cooperation between the national academies and leading the development direction of Chinese art creation.

Recently, the "Seventh National Academy of Fine Arts Exhibition" opened in Zhengzhou, exhibiting more than 900 masterpieces created by artists from painting academies across the country in recent years, taking root in the people, and working hard, including Chinese painting, oil painting, printmaking, sculpture, calligraphy and seal engraving and other art categories, reflecting the artists' profound grasp of the theme of the times, the unremitting pursuit of artistic height, and the multi-dimensional exploration of expressive language and form, fully reflecting the creative level of artists in the national academy. It comprehensively shows the new development of Chinese art at present.

Emphasizing the ideological, professional and academic nature of the works is the main theme and characteristics of this exhibition. Artists use excellent works to spread positive energy, carry forward the main theme, express the people's voice, express the people's feelings, and meet the people's aesthetic needs, so as to cultivate sentiments, inspire people, and urge people to forge ahead. In terms of creative themes, there are enthusiastic praises for the glorious history of Chinese people's unremitting efforts and unremitting struggles since the founding of the party a hundred years ago, such as Wang Yingchun's "Zhengrong Years", Wu Yunhua's "The Loveliest Person", Wang Yi's "Red Memory", Liu Baochun's "Dongfang Hong", etc.; there are vivid performances of the people of the whole country working together to contribute to the rapid development of society, such as Ding Xiaofang's "China Builders", Zuo Yang's "Ambition of Heaven and Earth", Zhou Bin's "Song of Strivers", Han Xiao's "Dream Circle Nine Xiao", Ren Zhengjun's "Frontier", and so on There is also no shortage of true depictions of beautiful homes and wonderful portrayals of daily life, such as Chen Mengxin's "One Side of Water and Soil", He Jialin's "Homeland", Liu Jie's "Impression of Longmen", Li Ming's "Tianhe Runtaihang", Liu Yun's "Han Xiaotu" and so on. In their creation, artists not only emphasize the construction of visual beauty, but also strive to deeply reflect the theme connotation of the work, and pay attention to the unity of the ideological and artistic nature of the work.

As professional creators, artists of the art academy system should take professional artistic standards as the goal and strive to climb the peak of art, not only actively carry forward the excellent tradition of Chinese art, but also strive to highlight the spirit of the times and the awareness of artistic innovation in their creation. On the one hand, this exhibition specially invites artists over 65 years old who have made great achievements in the field of fine arts to create excellent works, and on the other hand, it widely selects outstanding works of young and middle-aged artists with active thinking and diverse aesthetic interests. The works of artists of different ages gather together, which not only highlights the professional quality of art creation in the National Academy of Painting, but also allows the audience to appreciate different artistic styles and intergenerational characteristics.

The demand for the academic nature of creation is an important direction for artists of the National Academy of Painting to explore, and it is also an important aspect reflected in this exhibition. Under the perspective of internationalization, how to focus on the current artistic context and development status, develop in the form and language of traditional painting, and convey the feelings of the objective world with a new visual language is undoubtedly a realistic topic for the current artists of the academy. Wang Mengqi's works not only emphasize the erotic expression of traditional literati paintings, but also integrate distinct personalized expressions; the picture management and color and ink changes of Lu Yushun and Shi Gang's works are beyond the traditional formula and style of landscape painting; Lin Lan and Liu Wanming also focus on the theme of flowers and birds, the former emphasizes the expressiveness of color, and the latter focuses on the fresh and elegant rendering of ink color. The oil paintings of Yu Xiaofu, Liu Daming, Zhang Xinquan and others show their spontaneity and natural interest, reflecting the painter's exploration of "freehand"; oil painters such as Yang Feiyun, Guo Runwen, zhang Linong and others have further expanded in the realistic style. Wu Weishan pays attention to the imagery of sculpture, and his works not only contain the spirit of traditional Chinese art, but also have a strong sense of modernity. Luo Guirong's prints are based on realistic shapes, and through the depiction of surreal situations, they show the way people see and perceive the world in the digital age. Many masterpieces have made enlightening practices in terms of painting concepts and expressive techniques, or have absorbed the strengths of all and integrated Chinese and Western styles, and made useful attempts in painting modernity. These active artistic explorations have introduced people into a new visual space and presented a new development ecology of Chinese art creation.

As a New Year's Eve art feast, the "Seventh National Academy of Fine Arts Exhibition" brings together the latest achievements in the art creation of the academy of fine arts across the country, condenses the wisdom and hard work of the artists of the majority of the academy, and provides a platform for artists to share and exchange art.
