When I first heard about Shen Kerong, it was the painter Wang Cheng who told me: "I have a friend Shen Kerong who paints oil paintings, who is your neighbor, and his paintings are very good. ”
When I first met Shen Kerong, it was organized by the United Front Work Department of Jiangsu Province and curated by the painter Zhao Jing "Beauty in Jiangsu-I Wish the Victory of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China" art exhibition. Shen Kerong is one of the seven participating painters who have added WeChat to each other.
When I first met Shen Kerong, I invited the painter Guan Ce and his wife to dinner, invited Shen Kerong to participate, and got drunk after drinking two or three taels of wine, showing his frank side at a glance.

Shen Kerong was born in the early 60s, and took the college entrance examination in 1979 as a fresh graduate science student. In a fit of rage, he ran away from home and was persuaded to return by an old man at the Shimonoseki Wharf because of hunger. After coming back, because of the identity of the children of Jincheng Machinery Factory, he went to work in the Youth League Committee of the factory. It happened that Wang Qingxiang, a retired teacher from No. 3 Middle School and a student of Xu Beihong, held an art training class in Zhenghe Park, when Huang Yanghui and a group of outstanding artists participated in the tutoring, Shen Kerong was like a fish in water, and felt that this was the way to take the road of art to realize the dream of college.

In 1984, Shen Kerong applied for Nanjing University of the Arts and ranked first in the professional examination, but he failed again due to physical examination. In November of that year, the office of Comrade Gu Xiulian, then governor of Jiangsu Province, replied that because this year's college admission had ended, he was encouraged to continue to apply for the examination next year. In 1985, Shen Kerong was once again admitted to Nanjing University of the Arts with the first score in the professional examination, and since then he has embarked on the road of art study and creation.
Mr. Shen likes mountains and waters, and loves tranquility. Although he started his art career late, he felt that it was hard-won and more diligent, and during his studies at school, because he was a local, he hardly lived on campus at night, but every weekend he sketched around the eastern suburbs of Nanjing; His works are exhibited in almost every exhibition organized by the school. He visited many places in China, Europe and America alone, observing the scenery and observing the folk customs, so that he had the scenery in his heart and his paintings were born from the heart. His representative works include "Liberation of Hainan", "The Dialectic of Force" and "Storm" series, most of which have been collected by museums and exhibitions around the world. In the 90s, Mr. Shen was rated as the main teacher of the "Color Painting" course of the art major of the self-study examination for primary and secondary school teachers in Jiangsu Province.

As a professional oil painter, Mr. Shen pays attention to the historical accumulation and cultural connotation of freehand oil painting, and actively explores the creative transformation of freehand oil painting in the contemporary era. Although his works are concrete, they are not simple depictions of reality, but based on objective modeling, the understanding and digestion of natural objects are expressed through his works, with clear lines, bold and creative use of colors, vivid characters, and realistic expressions, conveying strong emotional resonance. The description of the scenery is not only delicate and nuanced, but also unique ideas, and the natural scenery in the painting seems to be the painter's back garden, which can only be entered by those who are excited, as if there is an immersive feeling.

While continuing to create, Shen Kerong also held tutorial classes in his spare time, and thousands of disciples were trained by him, and many peers were willing to send their children to him to study. Just when Shen Kerong's training career was brilliant, he resolutely closed the training class, saying that he would go to more places with limited energy and make more contributions to the oil painting career.
