"Some scholars believe that Chinese cursive and freehand ink paintings should be the originators of abstract art in the East and even in the world." Yang Weimin, curator and professor of fine arts, said that some of the abstract works of the seven contemporary Chinese artists in the exhibition are made of oil paint and acrylic on canvas, and some are made of rice paper, ink or other materials, but the meaning of ink in their artistic language is very obvious. Whether it is the acrylic material of Buri Gude, the oil paint of Wang Xinyao, the abstract paintings of Zhang Zikang on canvas or paper, or the abstract compositions of Liu Yiyuan, Liu Zijian, Shang Chun and Zhang Zhaohui on pure rice paper, the oriental humanistic spirit contained in the meaning of traditional Chinese ink painting is vividly expressed.

Liu Guoliang, vice chairman of the Wuhan Federation of Literary and Art Circles and deputy director of the Tanghu Art Museum, said that the original intention of holding this exhibition is to present the development trend of contemporary Chinese abstract painting through the combination of exhibition and academic combing, and actively publicize, promote and disseminate contemporary artists with innovative spirit and exploration consciousness with an open and inclusive attitude.
