In the calligraphy circle, there are many calligraphers who write small and micro letters.

However, it is rare to find calligraphers who can freely control small and micro Kai on various materials, and do not lose the demeanor and charm of calligraphy between the lines. Wang Dengfeng is such a young calligrapher, who uses "fly-headed small letters" with different chapters to write his inner grandiose on different materials.

On May 18th, Wang Dengfeng's first solo exhibition was held at the Hangzhou Henglu Art Museum on Nanshan Road, presenting the culmination of his works in the past six years, with about 300,000 words of works, mostly in small and micro letters, such as the 80,000-word "The World Speaks New Language", the four screens of "The Book of Tea" written on black gold paper, and a number of small works written on ancient paper.

Wang Dengfeng was born in a family of intellectuals in southern Henan, Henan Province, and began to deal with calligraphy at the age of 2 because his father succeeded his ancestors in the craft and supported his family with lettering. When he was a child, his father often wrote banners on rice paper, stamped them and pasted them on the walls of the tiled and eaves grass houses as decorations, which planted a sprout in his heart. He began to read and write at the age of three or four, and under the guidance of his father, he began to draw red and learn calligraphy for more than 40 years.

Wang Dengfeng chose Tang Kai as the basis for learning calligraphy, and took Ouyang Xun's "Jiucheng Palace Liquan Ming" as the main target. The introduction is based on the "Thirteen Elements of the Jade Edition" and "Huang Tingjing", and then "Confucius Temple Tablet" and "Sacred Order of the Wild Goose Pagoda" as its main models, which are inherited and innovated in his pen.

He often stayed up all night writing and was fascinated. once copied a copy of the Tao Te Ching for a day and a night; 24 days to copy 26 four-foot whole "Tengwang Pavilion Preface"; wrote a six-foot "Thousand Character Text" overnight; I didn't blink for five days and six nights, and I didn't leave the house for a month and a half. Sometimes, in order to create a work, he would carve sixty or seventy seals at any cost, just to find the right twenty or thirty.

Around 2000, Wang Dengfeng began to drift north and made a living selling words. Later, with the encouragement of his book friends, he tried to submit his manuscript to the outside world. The first work was copied in 4 mm block letters of "The World Speaks New Words", and thousands of words were copied for three days and four nights. This work entered the national exhibition, which greatly increased his confidence, and he submitted 9 drafts in more than 10 months, and entered 6 exhibitions, including the 11th National Calligraphy and Seal Carving Exhibition, the first "Yangtze River Cup" National Calligraphy Exhibition, and the "World Datong, Wei Tablet Hometown" National Calligraphy Exhibition.

Wang Dengfeng likes to write classics of Chinese culture, and also likes poetry and songs. The four screens of the "Book of Tea" are the works of Wang Dengfeng for eight years, and he wrote more than 7,000 words into four screens, each of which is 63 centimeters long and 15 centimeters wide. The texture of the black gold paper and the metallic sense of the gold powder, the carefully selected "Yunping ink" and tea-related seals, each part complements each other and complements each other, and you can feel the shade and dryness and the spirit of calligraphy when you stand in front of the work. When it comes to seals, Wang Dengfeng said that he currently has more than 2,000 seals, of different sizes, the smallest is only 1 mm × 1.3 mm, and only six are presented on the "Book of Tea".

The Heart Sutra is written on a broken piece of old paper that is hundreds of years old, and the silk fibers of the old paper can be seen through the light; But look closely at the penmanship, each word structure is not sloppy, the handwriting is not sloppy, you can see the majestic and quiet of the "stele" from the words, and some strokes are as powerful as the sharp edge of the needle; You can also see the stretch and softness of the post, and some pens are as gentle as willow leaves. Wang Dengfeng described the process of writing as "like oil floating on the chicken soup that people drink."

With a total of more than 80,000 words, "The World Speaks New Words" is written on paper as thin as a cicada's wings, and you can even feel the texture of the paper when you look carefully or touch it gently, like the fine fluff on the skin of a newborn. "When writing, the ink control is very strict, to find the feeling on the paper, the pen is in a very subtle place." The smallest character on the work is only 1 millimeter, and the largest is no more than 3 millimeters, and every punctuation mark is clearly visible. Wang Dengfeng bluntly said that this work is the highest state of his regular script.

The exhibition is free and will last until May 22.
