On December 14, the Toyota Group held a battery & electric vehicle strategy conference, at which the Lexus RZ was exposed. The new car is based on the e-TNGA platform, using pure electric drive, and is expected to officially debut in the world in 2022.

The Lexus RZ inherits the family-style front face design and adopts a closed grille commonly used in new energy vehicles. The sides feature a slip-back line and a suspended roof, and the rearview mirrors are different from the body color. In addition, the car does not use hidden door handles, and the charging socket is located at the left front fender. At present, the Interior and Power of lexus RZ have not yet been announced, with reference to the Toyota brand model of the same platform, it is expected that the car will use a 215 horsepower electric motor and a 72.8kWh battery pack, and the cruising range may be 350km. According to the previous trailer, the through-type taillights and the latest "LEXUS" logo will appear on this car.

In addition, the Toyota Group has announced plans for the future of the Lexus brand. Lexus will launch pure electric vehicles in various market segments by 2030; fully electrified in Europe, North America and China by 2030; and 100% electrified globally by 2035.
