When you click on the Windows widget, a large information panel pops up that includes the latest headlines and MSN (Microsoft's newsfeed) including sports events, political news, related stock information, upcoming events, and more, and you can scroll through the panel and interact with news entries.

It is expected that Microsoft will further relax the restrictions on mini programs after that, and foreign media believe that Microsoft will support third-party widgets in 2022 and effectively test the function in the first half of 2022.

If you're interested in this new feature design, you can try it out by joining dev channels. In addition to the latest version of Windows, you can also download the new version of the Windows Web Experience Pack from the Microsoft Store.

According to reports, the new version of the widget may be similar to Windows Vista, which previously supported third-party desktop gadgets, but the difference is that users will not be able to pin these Win11 gadgets to the desktop. Third-party widgets, on the other hand, seem to be only available for developers to integrate through the new APIs.

It's unclear whether Microsoft will allow users to pin these widgets to the desktop later. But there's no indication that the Windows 11 Dev beta has this design.
