Aston Martin unveils electrification strategy for the full electrification of GT sports cars and SUVs in 2030

Aston Martin recently announced the Racing Green strategy, expressing the brand's future electrification and environmental protection strategy. In addition to the Valhalla, which we already know will launch the PHEV model in 2024, the strategy also mentions that pure electric models will be launched in 2025, all new cars will be electrified in 2026, and GT sports cars and SUVs in 2030 will be fully electrified.

Like other brands, Aston Martin's ultimate goal is to be carbon neutral throughout manufacturing and supply chains. If all goes according to plan, it will happen in 2039.

To achieve this, the first to bear the brunt is the launch of the Valhalla in 2024 – a plug-in hybrid model with a mid-engine, which will begin deliveries in early 2024.

Aston Martin's first all-electric model will be available in 2025. By 2026, all new cars will be available in plug-in hybrid or all-electric models. By 2030, GT sports cars and SUVs will be fully electrified.

Although this strategy release is not explicit, we can see from the GT sports cars and SUVs listed: at that time, Aston Martin will not completely abandon the engine, and there may still be supercars equipped with engines. Referring to a statement issued last year by its CEO, Tobias Moers, it was mentioned that by 2030, the company's annual production will consist of only 5% of cars powered by gasoline, and all of these cars will be limited to the track. In other words, the GT sports cars and SUVs mentioned in this strategy will include all commercially available models that can be legally launched on the road.
