In June 2021, Ferrari unveiled its first V6 supercar, and today they released a convertible version of their GTB – the 296 Gran Turismo Spider (GTS).

In terms of appearance, the Ferrari 296 GTS follows the exterior design of the 296 GTB, the front face is very similar, not only that the body side of the new car and the light group at the rear of the car are completely the same, it can be said that there is not much difference between the two cars in appearance.

In addition to this, the Ferrari 296 GTS it has a retractable hardtop (RHT), which largely maintains the appearance of a sports car. When the vehicle is traveling at speeds of up to 45 km/h, it takes 14 seconds for the folding roof to open or close.

In terms of power, the Ferrari 296 GTS is Ferrari's first two-seater roadster with a mid-drive rear-drive and an externally rechargeable hybrid system. The main model of the 296GTS, the Assetto Fiorano is powered by a V6 petrol engine (2992cc), 488kW (maximum hybrid power of about 615kW), 740 Nm, and an 8-speed F1 dual clutch. 0-100 accelerates for 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 330 km/h. Battery capacity 7.45kWh (25 km in pure electric mode). In terms of body size, the new car is 4565mm long, 1958mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2600mm.

As a convertible, some people will worry about its weight, after all the folding hard top adds complexity, because body reinforcements must be manufactured to maintain rigidity. The dry weight of the 296 GTS is 1540 kg, provided it is equipped with the optional Asset Fiorano kit. The convertible version weighs 70 kg more than the hardtop version.
