Ferrari unveils the Convertible Supercar 296 GTS, a 2.9-second ride

Under the trend of fully transforming the automotive field to electrification, Ferrari, as a supercar brand, has also put down its body and actively sought transformation. At present, Ferrari has launched three hybrid sports cars, namely LaFerrari, SF90 and 296 GTB. Just recently, Ferrari officially unveiled its fourth hybrid model, the new roadster 296 GTS.

In terms of appearance, although the Ferrari 296 GTS is basically the same as the brother model 296 GTB, the "hard top convertible" structural design adopted by the 296 GTS clearly raises the appearance by a notch, compared to the GTS is obviously more suitable for a ride with friends. According to the official, the GTS is able to complete the opening and closing of the open top at a speed of less than 45km/h, and the whole process takes 14 seconds.

The 296 GTS abandons the "active" aerodynamic system that has been in use since the launch of the 458 Speciale model. Engineers focused their efforts on the aerodynamics development of the tail of the 296 GTS. Optimized, the GTS achieves the same aerodynamic efficiency as the GTB. As a convertible supercar, this is a very commendable tuning.

In terms of the rear, the new car adopts the "transparent back cover" design commonly found in the mid-mounted supercar, but unfortunately, the V6 engine below is not as shocking as the V8 and V10 look. The active spoiler is inherited from LaFerrari and blends perfectly with the rear bumper to generate an additional downforce of 100kg at high speeds.

Local tycoons can also choose to install the Assetto Fiorano kit, after kryptonite, not only can get the "exclusive skin", the whole vehicle can also lose 8kg of weight, at the same time at a speed of 250km/h, it can generate 360kg of downforce, allowing you to further experience the thrill of flight.

The 296 GTS, like the 296 GTB, is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, supplemented by a drive motor on the rear axle. The hybrid system combines a staggering 830 hp output with a peak torque of 740 N·m and matches the eight-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The 296 GTS has accelerated to 2.9s at zero-100 and only 7.6s from zero to two hundred, and has achieved a good performance of 1 minute and 21.8 seconds on the original Fiorano test track, which is comparable to the flagship. In the face of such a strong power output, everyone should not hold on to the "six-cylinder machine".
