On the evening of April 27, Porsche pre-sold two new models of the Taycan family in China – the Taycan Cross Turismo, the former positioned as a pure electric crossover multi-purpose vehicle (CUV) and the Taycan GTS, the first pure electric member of the GTS series.

It is worth mentioning that, like the Taycan previously sold, the Taycan Cross Turismo has 4 versions of the model pre-sold at the same time. As a result, the Taycan family now offers a total of 9 models in the Chinese market (4 versions of the Taycan, 4 versions of the Taycan Cross Turismo and the Taycan GTS), covering both crossover utility vehicles and coupes.

The price of several newly listed models is still high, and the official suggested retail price is from 968,000 yuan (including VAT), and the specific price is as follows:

The Taycan, the brand's first pure electric sports car released by Porsche in 2019, is seen as a sign of Porsche's next era, and 2021 is the first full sales year for the Taycan in the Chinese market, when the Taycan delivered a total of 7315 units in China, with orders more than twice that of the previous year.

Unlike the previous Taycan positioning coupe, the newly released Taycan Cross Turismo positions a pure electric crossover multi-purpose vehicle. Based on the 800 V architecture and chassis with enhanced off-road performance, the Taycan Cross Turismo's driving scene will be expanded to the road, track and off-road.

In terms of appearance, there are also significant differences between the taycan and taycan cross turismo of the same level, which are more sporty, off-road, and have more space.

It should be pointed out that the four versions of the Taycan Cross Turismo, mainly the difference in power performance, they are equipped with a 93.4 kWh battery as standard, and the range is also slightly different due to the difference in power performance, for example, the zero hundred acceleration time reaches 2.9 s, the top speed reaches 250 km/ version, the cruising range is 469 km.

Another detail is that the Taycan Cross Turismo is the first Porsche model to be carbon neutral throughout its life cycle, which is an important milestone for Porsche towards the goal of carbon neutrality across the value chain by 2030.

Low carbon and emission reduction are the general trend. Earlier, at Porsche Global's 2022 press conference, Oliver Blume, Chairman of Porsche's Global Executive Board, said that Porsche's future is electrification, with the goal of reaching half of sales of electrified models, including plug-in hybrid or pure electric models, by 2030.

At present, Porsche is moving towards this goal, and the electrification of models in more segments also shows the rhythm of Porsche's strategic deployment.
