Driving an electric Porsche off-road, the Taycan Cross Turismo came

At the recent online conference held by Porsche, Porsche officially launched the pre-sale of its Taycan Cross Turismo and the new Taycan GTS in the Chinese market. The Taycan Cross Turismo is a hunting form, positioned as a pure electric crossover multi-purpose vehicle, and the pre-sale includes four models: 4, 4S, Turbo and Turbo S. So far, the Porsche Taycan family has offered 9 models in the Chinese market, covering two body forms: cross-border multi-purpose vehicles and coupes.

The hunting outfit is elegantly stretched and has a more powerful ability to full-range traffic

In terms of appearance, the Taycan Cross Turismo can be said to be the perfect presentation of the Mission E Cross Turismo concept car, which not only has an elegant and stretched hunting suit shape, but also has a full off-road style. As an off-road design component, the corners of the front and rear bumpers and the ends of the sills are equipped with special skid plates to effectively prevent the impact of stones. Optional design components also include a compass at the top of the dashboard that simulates the direction of the front of the car and provides altitude and time information on the display.

The four power versions of this pre-sale are all equipped with a 93.4kWh high-performance battery upgrade version as standard, of which the most powerful Turbo S version accelerates from 100 kilometers in only 2.9 seconds. Thanks to the latest chassis technology, all four-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension are standard, plus an 800V electric drive system to cope with more complex road conditions. Ground clearance can be increased by up to 30 mm compared to the Taycan in standard driving mode, while gravel mode, designed for light off-road terrain such as sand and dirt roads, improves all-terrain capability on uneven roads.

Compared to the regular Taycan, the Taycan Cross Turismo has better seating and storage space, and daily practicality can be described as a higher level. The head space of rear passengers has increased by 47mm, the luggage compartment volume has increased to 1212 liters, and the large tailgate design is convenient for picking up and placing luggage, which can better meet the needs of long-distance travel.

In addition, the Tayan Cross Turismo inherits Porsche's reliable mileage calculation logic, which greatly reduces journey anxiety. The Taycan Cross Turismo series has a range of up to 523 km (CLTC). The "WYSIWYG" meter mileage comprehensively considers many energy consumption factors, including driving style, road conditions, outside temperature, the use of auxiliary equipment, etc., so the meter mileage estimate is more realistic and reliable.

Panoramic sunroofs with light control are used throughout the Taycan range

At the press conference, Porsche announced that the panoramic sunroof with light control function will be applied not only to the latest Taycan 2022 model, but also to the Taycan Cross Tursimo and Taycan GTS models.

The sunroof adopts a multi-layer structure, which can effectively shield heat radiation even in a transparent state, and significantly improve the lighting and heat insulation effect of the car while preventing glare. According to the sunshine simulation measurements carried out by porsche R&D center Weissach, only 15% of the heat enters the interior space, compared with more than 30% of the conventional sunroof.

As shown in the image above, the entire skylight is divided into nine individually controllable zones that can be switched with just a finger click: including "Clear", "Matt", "Semi" and "Bold". The sunroof even enables a dynamic "roller blind" function: when you swipe your finger over the sunroof icon in the display, the corresponding sections are activated sequentially.

Porsche's charging network layout has been further improved in China

In order to ensure that car owners can travel without worry, Porsche's charging network layout in China has been further improved. The first is home charging, where Taycan customers receive free access to home charging equipment and basic installation services, striving to achieve "ready-to-go" use. Customers who have already started home charging installations have a 93.5% success rate, and the Porsche Premium Charging network is constantly expanding. As of mid-April, 119 Porsche Centres in 77 cities across the country were equipped with 800V Turbo charging stations, and 103 Premium Charging Stations had been set up in hotspots in 20 cities, covering Turbo charging stations and 400V Supercharger stations. This year, five new cities will be covered – Xiamen, Kunming, Fuzhou, Shenyang and Hefei.
