The new Ferrari Prancing Horse two-seater Berlinetta Roadster features a rear mid-engine configuration and is in line with the Ferrari 296 GTB, redefining driving pleasure, whether it's extreme driving or everyday driving. The Ferrari 296 GTS features a new 120° V6 engine with a maximum output of up to 663 cv and is paired with an electric motor with an output of 167 cv (122 kW). For the first time, the powertrain was used in the Ferrari 296 GTB.
The new car is the first Ferrari Ferrari road sports car with a 6-cylinder engine and Prancing Horse emblem, with a combined output of up to 830 cv of its peers, providing unimaginable performance and a unique and powerful sound wave, making the driving experience of the roadster even more fascinating and irresistible. The ferrari 296 GTS designation combines its total displacement (2.992 liters), the number of cylinders (6) and the GTS (Gran Turismo Spider) abbreviation, fully demonstrating Ferrari's dual vision of paying homage to the classics and looking to the future.
The Ferrari 296 GTS's PHEV plug-in hybrid system ensures excellent practicality with zero lag pedal response and a range of up to 25 km in eDrive pure electric mode. Through its compact body shape, innovative dynamic control system and meticulously crafted aerodynamic design, the new car offers drivers amazing control and instant response.
Its sporty design and extremely compact body design fully reflect the modern shape of the new car. At the same time, the design is inspired by models such as the Ferrari 250 LM of 1963, showing the perfect combination of pure style and excellent functionality. The powertrain consists of the turbocharged V6, which powers the rear wheels with an 8-speed DCT and E-Diff, and the MGU-K, which sits between the engine and the transmission. A clutch is set up between the fuel engine and the electric motor to separate them in pure electric eDrive mode. Finally, there is a high-voltage battery and an inverter that powers the electric motor.
