Audi Urbansphere Concept car is the third concept car in the Audi sphere series and the first concept car created by Audi with Chinese customers, showing the vision of high-end urban mobility in the future.
Based on the PPE platform, the Urbansphere Concept is 5.51 meters long, 2.01 meters wide, 1.78 meters high, and has a wheelbase of 3.40 meters, which is the largest size of any Audi concept car to date, and has the largest interior space audi has ever had, with a 2+2 four-seat layout and L4 level autonomous driving capabilities.
The front face of the new car is innovatively adopted with an octagonal integrated grille, which consists of a digital lighting panel with dynamic lighting effects. The new digital headlights are slim and sharp in shape, but also support dynamic lighting effects, which can be adjusted to traffic conditions, the environment and user feelings. The rear of the car also has a matrix LED glossy surface with a similar function.
The doors feature a twin door design and the elimination of the B-pillar. The seats in the car can be rotated outwards, and the roof is equipped with a large piece of panoramic glass. The interior is dominated by soft beige and grey tones, and the interior, seat covers and carpets are made of wood, wool and synthetic textile fabrics, which are extremely soft to the touch. The seat cushion is made of ECONYL material, a recyclable polyamide that is still fully recyclable after the car is scrapped. Bamboo pulp fiber fabrics are applied to armrests and the rear of vehicles.
A large transparent OLED screen is located between two rows of seats, and when passengers want to share the in-car infotainment system, the screen will be lowered vertically from the roof, which can be used for video conferencing or watching movies, etc., and when it is useless, the screen can be folded up and integrated with the glass roof.
Each seat in the car also has a separate sound area with speakers on the headrests. Separate displays are available on the backrests of the front seats. In relaxation and entertainment mode, the backrest of the rear seats can be tilted up to 60 degrees and the leg rests can be extended simultaneously. When communicating with each other, passengers can rotate their seats and talk face-to-face. There is a centre console between the rear seats that can be moved upwards. Passengers can also effectively isolate themselves from other passengers in the upper head area through a privacy screen behind the headrest.
The front and rear axles are each equipped with a drive motor with a total output of 295 kW and a peak torque of 690 Nm. The flat-panel battery pack has a capacity of up to 120 kWh and a WLTP range of up to 750 km. With 800-volt charging technology, the charging power reaches 270 kilowatts, and the charging takes ten minutes to increase the cruising range of more than 300 kilometers. In 25 minutes, the charge can be charged from 5% to 80%.
