It is worth noting that at the end of last year, the BMW Group upgraded its corporate strategy with the theme of "home in China" and said that it would give priority to the needs of the Chinese market in new product development.

According to Gao Le, President and CEO of the BMW Group greater China, the new BMW 7 Series has fully considered the expectations of Chinese customers from the product concept stage. "The new 7 Series was developed in Germany, while the design was inspired by China. China is not only the world's largest market for the 7 Series, but also a leader in future automotive design trends. We believe that today's China's movements will lead the world's direction tomorrow. Gao Le said.

It is understood that the BMW i7 is equipped with the fifth generation of bmw group electric drive system, equipped with dual motors, the mileage can exceed 600 kilometers, and technically has the possibility of L3 automatic driving. At the same time, bmw i7 battery and vehicle production all use green electricity, and targeted use of high standards of recycled aluminum, reducing carbon emissions in the supply chain.

This year is still a big year for the BMW Group, with 26 new products launched in the Chinese market and its transformation into electrification accelerating. At the end of March this year, the pure electric i3 has been officially launched. It is expected that in 2022, the BMW Group will have 15 series production and trial production of pure electric vehicle models, covering about 90% of the luxury car segment. In the Chinese market, the BMW Group will provide customers with five pure electric models.

According to the latest data released by the BMW Group, in the first quarter of this year, the bmw group's cumulative sales in the Chinese market were about 208,500 vehicles, of which the sales of pure electric vehicles reached 3 times that of the same period last year.

"Electrification is one of the bmw group's top priorities. In 2022, the Group plans to double its global sales of pure electric vehicles compared to 2021. Our first-quarter performance in the Chinese market laid a good foundation for achieving this goal. With the combined efforts of our dealer partners, we will further accelerate the pace of electric power in the coming months. Gao Le said.

According to the plan, by the end of 2025, the BMW Group plans to deliver a total of 2 million pure electric vehicles. At that time, a quarter of the BMW Group's sales in the Chinese market will be pure electric vehicles; the "new generation" model based on the new structure will begin trial production in 2024 and be unveiled in 2025, equipped with the sixth generation of eDrive electric drive system; by 2030, the BMW Group aims to deliver about 10 million pure electric vehicles worldwide.
