On April 6, China Insurance Research and Testing Center (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Test Center") held a press conference on the evaluation results of China Insurance Automobile Safety Index in Beijing. The 7 models tested this time include 6 SUVs and 1 MPV; the models involved are Buick Encore S, Toyota C-HR, Dongfeng Citroen Tianyi C5 AIRCROSS, Weipai Tank 300, Dongfeng Nissan New Generation X-Trail, Buick GL8 ES Luzun, Tesla Model Y. The results of the assessment are as follows:
In the evaluation results, in terms of crash resistance and maintenance economy, 2 models were evaluated as good (A), 2 models were evaluated as average (M), and 3 models were evaluated as poor (P). In terms of structural crashworthiness scores, the total number of defects is at least 0 (X-Gun models) and up to 16 (GL8 ES Luzun models); in terms of serviceability scores, the total number of defects is at least 7 (C-HR models) and a maximum of 21 (GL8 ES Luzun models); in terms of maintenance economy scores, the number of positive bump defects is at least 17 (tank 300 models) and the statistics of tail bump defects are at least 4 (tank 300 models). In addition, only 1 of the 7 models in the frontal low-speed crash test detonated the airbag, and the false detonation rate was 14%.
In terms of occupants, five models were rated as excellent (G) and two models as good (A). There are 5 models rated as excellent in the driver's side-front 25% bias crash conditions, 5 models rated as excellent in the side impact conditions, 6 models rated as excellent in the top pressure conditions, and 7 models rated as excellent in whiplash conditions.
In terms of laymen, 6 models were rated as excellent (G) and 1 model as good (A), with an average scoring rate of 70.43%.
In terms of auxiliary safety, 5 models were evaluated as excellent (G), 1 model was evaluated as general (M), and 1 full range of models was not equipped with auxiliary safety devices. Four of the seven models are equipped with an emergency rescue service (E-call) function.
Judging from the evaluation results released this time, the proportion of good crash resistance and maintenance economy and above is only 28.6%, and there is still a large room for improvement; in terms of occupants, pedestrians outside the car and auxiliary safety (test 6 models), the overall performance is relatively good, and the proportion of good and above is more than 80%.
Buick Encore S received poor ratings in terms of crashworthiness and maintenance economic index, general ratings for vehicle auxiliary safety, and the rest were excellent.
The Toyota C-HR received good reviews in terms of crash resistance and maintenance economics index, and the rest were excellent.
Citroën C5 AIRCROSS received general ratings in terms of crashworthiness and maintenance economy index, good occupant safety in the car, and excellent in the rest.
The Tank 300 received good ratings in terms of crashworthiness and maintenance economics index, and the rest were excellent.
Nissan X-Trail received general ratings in terms of crash resistance and maintenance economic index, and the rest were excellent.
Buick GL8 ES Luzun received poor evaluations in terms of crashworthiness and maintenance economy index, good evaluations for occupant safety and pedestrian safety outside the vehicle, and excellent vehicle auxiliary safety.
The Tesla Model Y received poor reviews in terms of crash resistance and maintenance economics index, and the rest were excellent.
