In fact, a number of studies have long proved that due to the complexity of the causes of autism, there is no specific drug that can cure autism in the world. According to Zhang Yan, the only scientific and effective method is rehabilitation training, and the earlier the training can effectively improve the missing function.
As a neurodevelopmental disorder that seriously endangers human health, it has obvious characteristics, mainly manifested in social communication disorders, language development backwardness, narrow range of interests, stereotyped behavior, and 50%-60% are accompanied by different degrees of intellectual development backwardness, and the general diagnosis is about 3 years old.
In 2008, Wuxing Yangfan Health Park, the first private non-autism rehabilitation institution in Huzhou, was established. However, due to its inception, the difficulties faced by Yangfan mainly exist in three aspects, one is the scarcity of special education teachers, the other is that the public and even parents do not have enough awareness of autism, and the third is that the systematic rehabilitation training system can only continuously learn from advanced institutions in other places. It was not until later, with the help of the media and non-governmental organizations every year, that autism began to officially enter people's vision step by step and was widely familiar.
In order to allow their children to live independently, groups of parents have embarked on the training of autism schools, but the monthly cost has become a mountain on many families, although the Disabled Persons' Federation has also given strong subsidies for the rehabilitation training of local autistic children, in fact, there are still foreign or local families that cannot afford it. As early as many years ago, a post-80s mother who married Taizhou in Huzhou chose to sail in order to do rehabilitation for her son with autism, she walked on a waterway every morning, then took the bus from Linghu lake to Huzhou, and returned to her hometown in Linghu lake at night, so that the trajectory of day after day has already allowed her to see through everything. She recalled that having the second child was also a choice that there was no way to choose, she was planning for the future, she could wait for the children to grow up, the second brother could take care of her brother, until later, after her father was diagnosed with cancer, he almost couldn't support it.
Zhang Yan has too many such feelings, she said, a young father when he knew that his child was autistic, once wanted to take his child out of this world, so Yang Fan's teacher and the father who had long lost confidence in life communicated and persuaded over and over again, and then strengthened his belief in living. When his child was effectively recovered, the father's eyes shone brightly, and the original confusion suddenly disappeared, and now, in the autism parent committee formed by Yang Fan, he uses his own way and often to help the new parents to encourage and enlighten them.
In the river of development that conforms to the social era, as children with autism grow older, it is inevitable that rehabilitation training for young children cannot be only targeted. Most social workers and special education and parents have already raised an unavoidable question: When parents are elders, what will happen to children when they grow up? Zhang Yan introduced that this is a long-term exploration process, and yangfan has created four stages from 0-3 years old, 3-6 years old, 7-15 years old, 16-30 years old to meet the rehabilitation and vocational skills training of autistic groups from young children to adults.
"There are many problems we have to solve, such as the lack of experience in accepting autistic children in general schools, and the lack of acceptance of older working life by society and enterprises, etc., which still needs to be promoted by our autism supporters." At the same time, when decades later, more and more autistic groups enter the old age life, and can only solve the anxiety of parents when they are alive by opening up a "double support" model for the development of autism and the family. Zhang Yan also pointed to the crux of the problem.
Whether it is an autism institution or a parent, the direction of everyone must ultimately work in the direction of universal school and employment. At present, Yangfan has 20-30% of children every year to recover to ordinary kindergarten primary school to live, although in the general school classmates and teachers are more accepting of autistic children, but in the process of adaptation there will still be problems, which must go through a good integration transfer process, for this reason, Yangfan has been innovative in the opening of social integration classes have a great breakthrough.
