Small happiness in the ordinary
I was lucky enough to meet this group of children, they gave me infinite touch, they made me get a different happiness. At dinner in the early morning, I was standing in the classroom serving food to the children, when I suddenly saw a child in our class getting ready to leave from her seat, and just as I was about to say to her, "Go back and sit down", I saw a pair of small hands carrying a small chair and walking towards me step by step, "Teacher sit down." At that moment, my heart was filled with surprise and joy.
I was touched by the greeting "Good morning teacher" from the child who came to the classroom in the morning, moved by the child's whisper to me" "Teacher, I miss you so much", and moved by the child's words to me when cutting fruit, "Teacher, be careful not to cut your hands"... Touched by a word of concern, a small act of love. While touching every child with practical actions, love and care, I also harvest love and happiness.
A loving hug
Warm sunlight poured through the window into the sleeping room, and with the music "get up, get up, get up bed..." sounded, the classroom became no longer quiet.
"It's time to get up during the lunch break, and it's time for the kids to get up." After I finished speaking, I saw that the children did not react, some were lying on the bed with wide eyes in a daze, some were holding their small faces and did not know what they were thinking, and some were still immersed in beautiful sleep, refusing to get up for a long time, still lying on the bed as a "little lazy cat"...
At this time, I faintly heard a little friend's crying, I went to the bedside and asked her what was wrong, my inquiry made the crying louder, and after patient communication, I knew that she had a nightmare. I gently stroked her head, "Don't be afraid, come over and hug you teacher", she immediately got up and snuggled in my arms, and her mood gradually stabilized. It turns out that love is so simple, sometimes there is no need for too much language, a caressing action, a warm hug, can make children feel the true meaning of love.
Lead the snail for a walk
During outdoor activities, the children are wearing coats, and then a child runs up to me and says, "Teacher, I won't." For time reasons, I quickly helped him get dressed, but when school was over in the afternoon, he walked up to me with his clothes and said, "Teacher, I won't." When I decided whether to help him or not, I thought of Montessori's phrase "When the teacher is demoted to the role of observer, children are able to carry out their activities spontaneously", so I decided to let him dress himself this time.
I squatted down and said to him, "Are you still thinking about the dressing nursery rhyme you learned earlier, you can try to wear it yourself, take your time, we are waiting for you." So. He kept chanting nursery rhymes in his mouth, while trying to get dressed, at this time I quietly observed, did not bother in the past, after a while, only to see him smile and run to my side and said to me, "Look at the teacher, I have put on my own clothes."
I believe that he himself dresses himself more with a sense of accomplishment than I can help him, that we have tried to provide the child with everything he needs, and that we must now restrain our impulse to help the child, to observe quietly, to keep a proper distance from the child, neither to interfere nor to allow him to be free.
Children grow up like walking with snails, as a teacher, you should squat down, slow down, accompany children to experience the taste of growth, and listen carefully to the sound of their growth.
