The King of Wei wanted to make Sun Bing an official, but Pang Juan knew that Sun Bing's talent was above his own, and if he let Sun Bing become an official in the State of Wei, sooner or later he would replace himself and become the main general of the Wei army.
In order to prevent the King of Wei from appointing Sun Zhi, Pang Juan told the King of Wei that Sun Bing's talents were not above him, and that the official position should not be subordinated to him, and he persuaded the King of Wei not to give Sun Bing an official position for the time being, but to wait for him to establish a meritorious service, and then give him a higher official position. In 342 BC, Pang Juan led an army to attack Korea. King Qi sent Tian Ji and Sun Zhen to rescue Korea, and the two once again adopted the strategy of encircling Wei to save Zhao, directly leading troops to attack the capital of the Wei state, Daliang. Even after suffering a loss, but the capital was in danger, Pang Juan had to withdraw his troops and return to the rescue. With the lessons of the Battle of Guiling, Pang Juan was a lot more cautious, but unfortunately, Sun Zhen was still a chess player.

Sun Zhen was afraid that his story with Pang Juan would repeat itself on Tian Ji and Zou Ji, so he persuaded Tian Ji not to dismiss the military generals, but to lead the soldiers back to the capital of the State of Qi. In this way, Tian Ji would flee the Country of Qi because he was afraid of him, but Tian Ji did not listen. Tian Ji did not plot to kill Zou Ji, but Zou Ji did not want to let Tian Ji go, and he had people frame Tian Ji for plotting rebellion, causing Tian Ji to be afraid and flee to the Chu State.
