According to bydir's official sales data released on January 3 this year, BYD terminal sales in 2021 were 730,093 units, an increase of 75.4% over last year; new energy vehicle sales were 593,745 units, an increase of 231.6% year-on-year, accounting for 81.3% of annual sales.
The cumulative sales of the Song family exceeded 200,000 vehicles, of which the Song PLUS DM-i and Song Pro DM-i green-brand plug-in hybrid cars are undoubtedly the hottest domestic SUV star products in 2021.
In this context, in 2022, BYD Automobile will continue to expand its SUV product line, such as the first SUV model of this ocean network, the side style of the car is the same as that of the Song Pro, and it is likely to be officially unveiled in the first half of this year. For reference, the guide price of the current Song Pro DM-i is 13.48-16.98 million yuan.
According to the strategic plan previously announced by BYD Automobile, this hybrid vehicle will be attached to the series of warships in the ocean network, which may be named Cruiser 05.
Prior to this, BYD Ocean Network already had the Dolphin of overseas animal series (small pure electric car), and the upcoming Ocean Warship Series (A-class plug-in hybrid car), a new SUV model suspected of being named Cruiser 05, which is the first compact plug-in hybrid SUV of Ocean Network and the third strategic model.

First look at the side, the side lines of this cruiser 05 are easy to think of Song Pro, the wheel eyebrows & fenders are obviously prominent, the upper part shows a front and rear double waist line design, although the tail of the triangle window style has changed, but the C-pillar & D column layout is completely consistent, are typical suspension roof style, decoration is slightly different.
Of course, after all, it is the model of the ocean net, the front face style of the cruiser 05 and the previously released destroyer 05 maintain horizontal commonality, the front grille is decorated with horizontal chrome strips, and the overall design is borderless, while the headlight group and the front grille are integrated, further stretching the visual width, which is still significantly different from the Song Pro DM-i of the Dynasty family.

More importantly, as a series of models of the Ocean Network, Dolphin & Destroyer 05 & Cruiser 05 will not use the Chinese character logo of the Dynasty family, not only the front face, but also the steering wheel of the central control, but also a simplified design "BYD" letter logo, which is obviously more affinity for some consumers who pursue fashion and foreign style.
As for the rear, the car also adopts the popular through-type taillight design, flowing water turn signals, "Build Your Dreams" letter logo is likely not to be absent, but it is clear that the width of the light strip is narrower than the Song Pro DM-i, with a prominent tail and a straight rear surround, further highlighting the sports temperament.

At present, we are not quite sure about the cockpit design of the Cruiser 05, and I personally guess that its overall layout will not change much from the active dynasty family, but the details of the functional modules will be consistent with the destroyer 05, such as the air conditioning outlet in the horizontal grille style, the three-frame steering wheel with BYD logo, and the integrated barrel seat design.

Of course, the two rectangular oversized displays will not be absent on this new car, and their size on the Song Pro DM-i will reach 8.8 inches and 12.8 inches respectively, and the electronic shift mechanism in the central control armrest position is expected to be changed to a knob design.
The power part, as a hull replacement of the Song Pro DM-i, the new car is expected to continue to be equipped with BYD's DM-i super hybrid system, including an electrified hybrid-specific Xiaoyun 1.5L L4 self-priming engine with a book data of 81kW/135Nm, which will increase the compression ratio to 15.5:1 through the Atkinson cycle (variable valve timing of the intake side VVT) and the thermal efficiency will reach 43.04%.
On the right side of the engine is not a traditional transmission, but an EHS electric drive module, which contains a motor coaxial to the engine, mainly responsible for electromechanical coupling & power shunting, and a motor with a heteroaxial layout that can directly drive the half shaft through the reducer. According to different versions, this set of electric drive modules has EHS132 and EHS145, which indicate that the external output power is 132kW and 145kW respectively.
Obviously, this DM-i super hybrid system does not have an independent transmission, starting acceleration, low and medium speed speed regulation is mainly through the motor input / input power control, if necessary, the engine will also be directly involved in the drive, to provide additional power output (floor oil conditions).
This idea can't help but be reminiscent of the Toyota THS hybrid system on the Camry dual engine and rav4 dual engine, which is a typical "peak shaving and valley filling" design idea, which can effectively maintain the engine speed/load stability, so as to maintain a stable low power loss in the face of frequent acceleration/deceleration of urban traffic jams.
More advanced than Toyota THS, BYD DM-i is equipped with large-capacity lithium battery packs, for example, the high-end model of Song Pro DM-i uses a lithium iron phosphate blade battery with a capacity of 18.3kWh, and the pure electric mileage under NEDC test conditions reaches 110km.
It is precisely because it can be charged and supports the characteristics of pure electric mode, so that all DM-i series are on the green card, not only the purchase tax, license plate fee is exempted, and it will not be plagued by the restrictions in some areas.

According to bydir's previous product planning, starting in 2022, the brand will begin to implement the "Dynasty Family" + "Overseas Network" dual-vehicle strategy, the destroyer 05 corresponds to the Qin PLUS DM-i, the cruiser 05 corresponds to the Song Pro DM-i, and in the future there will be a cruiser 07 suspected of corresponding to the Tang DM-i, as well as the landing ship series corresponding to the high-end MPV series.
