On the evening of March 17, BYD's new energy model destroyer 05, which is specially built for young users, was officially launched, equipped with DM-i super hybrid technology, and released a total of 5 models, with a price of 119,800 to 155,800 yuan after comprehensive subsidies.

The Destroyer 05 is the second model since the release of BYD Ocean Network, and the first model, Dolphin, was released on August 13, 2021. According to the data of the Association, from January to February 2022, BYD Dolphin sold a total of 19,163 vehicles, ranking 4th in the best-selling list of new energy cars.

After the release of Destroyer 05, BYD Ocean Network filled the gap of 100,000 new energy hybrid cars, and the product matrix was more perfect. With the release of more marine models, BYD Ocean Network, which was born only half a year ago, will gradually grow into a platform comparable to Dynasty Network.

The marine aesthetics of the Destroyer 05

As the first sedan of BYD Ocean Network, the Destroyer 05 integrates almost all of BYD's latest technology, consisting of a 43.04% thermal efficiency of the Snap Cloud-Plug Hybrid 1.5L high-efficiency engine, an EHS mixing system and a DM-i dedicated power blade battery.

This set of collocation is also almost the standard of BYD's new hybrid model, the power is mainly supplemented by electricity and oil, and the mileage is as high as 1200 kilometers when full of oil and electricity, there is almost no mileage anxiety, and the comprehensive fuel consumption of 100 kilometers is only 3.8 liters. In the era when oil prices exceeded 9 yuan / liter, the ultra-low fuel consumption of BYD DM-i hybrid has a very good market competitiveness.

In terms of appearance, the destroyer 05 continues the aesthetic design concept of the ocean series, highlighting the marine design elements from the outside to the inside. For example, the recognizable through-line day running lights combine with the decorative strips above, resembling battleship headlights; the front face grille design is inspired by the ripples of the waves, and the visual width of the vehicle is further stretched through the teardrop-like lattice and staggered decorative strips.

On the intelligent technology, it is equipped with BYD DiLink intelligent network connection system, which can support intelligent voice interaction functions, K song mode, vehicle OTA remote upgrade and intelligent cloud services. Its DiPilot Intelligent Driver Assistance System provides users with advanced intelligent driver assistance functions including active braking, lane keeping, adaptive cruise, and pedestrian identification/protection to further improve vehicle safety.

The destroyer 05, which integrates BYD's latest technology, is only 11.98 to 155,800 yuan in price, continuing BYD's consistent style of high cost performance, a total of 5 models, and its 120KM version also adds VTOL mobile power station, 17kW DC fast charging and other functions to unlock more car scenes, making travel more interesting.

BYD Ocean Network replaces e Net

After the Spring Festival, BYD has released three blockbuster models: Yuan PLUS, Song MAX DM-i, and Destroyer 05, and it is clear that 2022 is another big year for BYD products.

If the main theme of BYD's product replacement in 2021 is to take the blade battery and DM-i super hybrid technology as the core and do a full range of replacement and upgrading of the Dynasty series of automotive products, then 2022 is to create an ocean network comparable to the Dynasty network on the basis of the two core technologies.

BYD Ocean Network was officially released at the Guangzhou Auto Show at the end of 2021, and it has been less than half a year, which is still a relatively mysterious prototype, but with the release of destroyer 05, its outline has gradually become clear.

In the past, BYD had two major platforms, Dynasty Network and e-Net, the former was mainly for consumers' private cars, and the latter was mainly for the online car market, but with the rapid outbreak of the new energy market, the two major platforms were seriously unequal, and the existence of Dynasty Network far exceeded the e-network.

Therefore, BYD has adjusted the sales network and launched the marine network to replace the e-net, and the products of the original e-net are merged into the marine network, that is, the marine network includes the marine biological series, the warship series and the e-series products. Among them, the warship series is equipped with DM-i super hybrid technology, and the marine life series is equipped with pure electric products with e platform 3.0 technology.

At present, the only model sold by Ocean Network to the outside world is the Dolphin. Production capacity is BYD's biggest constraint

Thanks to consumer recognition of blade batteries and DM-i super hybrids. In 2022, BYD will become the biggest winner in the new energy vehicle market. In February 2022, BYD surpassed SAIC Volkswagen (80,158 units) with retail sales of 89,102 vehicles, ranking second, second only to FAW-Volkswagen (104,940 units) in the first place, and truly competed with fuel vehicles.

Among BYD's many models, BYD Qin ranked fourth in the February sedan best-seller list with sales of 24,501 units; BYD Song won the First Place in the February SUV Best-Seller List with 24,532 units in the market sales. From January to February, BYD sold 179457 new energy vehicles, three times that of the second place SAIC-GM-Wuling (58,436 units).

2022 is a year of rapid expansion of the new energy market, and many institutions expect that China's electric vehicle sales will reach 6 million in 2022, of which the proportion of hybrid models will increase rapidly to 22%. As the head enterprise in the new energy market, BYD, which actively replaces its products, may move towards a new milestone.

However, BYD has not been smooth sailing. Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, previously told Caijingqiche that "the biggest difficulty in the future is that we can't see through, the market changes too fast, we can understand the direction of technological development, but we can't see through the development of the market in the next few years, and we don't know how fast the market will rise, which will lead to our insufficient preparation."

In fact, BYD is indeed facing the problem of insufficient preparation, that is, production capacity can not keep up with orders. Take the blade battery as an example, BYD blade battery is a new technology, the need for a new production line, and the blade battery used in pure electric and DM-i hybrid blade battery is also very different, in 2021, BYD's entire range of products equipped with blade batteries, production capacity is obviously insufficient, which also led to dolphin monthly orders of more than 20,000, but the capacity planning is only 5,000 vehicles.

In 2022, new energy vehicles are also facing the problem of rising raw material prices, taking lithium carbonate, the core material of power batteries, as an example, the price of lithium carbonate in January 2021 is about 50,000 yuan / ton, and in January this year, it has reached 400,000 / ton, and the time of one year has risen nearly eight times. At the same time, the price of rare metals such as nickel and cobalt has also risen sharply.

In February 2022, BYD Dolphin and Dynasty Series have announced price increases ranging from 1,000-7,000 yuan. In the future, whether raw materials can be guaranteed and supplied is a dilemma faced by BYD and even all vehicle companies.
