With the development of technology, the energy density of the blade battery currently in use by BYD has been upgraded to 150Wh/kg. For example, the Song PLUS EV Honor Edition has a battery capacity of 87.04 kWh and a range of 605 km.
Recently, Wang Chuanfu, chairman of BYD, said that the second-generation blade battery is already on the way, and the new generation of products will be smaller and lighter in the battery pack with the same endurance, and the power consumption will be reduced for 100 kilometers. For a battery pack of the same volume, the battery capacity can be made larger and the cruising range can be longer.
In addition, BYD said that although we have top-level battery design and manufacturing capabilities, we don't need it, for example, a Kirin battery with strong performance, but its price is very expensive.
