Auto Event 1: Nissan China releases December and full-year sales figures
On January 6, Nissan China announced its December and full-year sales. Nissan China said that due to external factors such as the new crown virus pneumonia epidemic and the shortage of raw materials across industries, Nissan Motor China's cumulative sales from January to December 2021, including passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, were 1381494 units, down 5.2% year-on-year.
Specifically, from January to December 2021, the sales volume of Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd.'s passenger car business segment (including Nissan and Venucia brands) was 1134889 units, down 6.4% year-on-year. The light commercial vehicle segment, which includes Dongfeng Motor Co., Ltd. and Zhengzhou Nissan, sold 234309 units, up 7.8% year-on-year.
Automobile event two: SAIC-GM-Wuling GSEV series cumulative sales of 750,000 units
At the Haikou International New Energy Vehicle & Intelligent Connected Vehicle Exhibition, which opened on January 6, SAIC-GM-Wuling announced the cumulative sales volume of GSEV series products (Wuling pure electric vehicle models).
The GSEV series includes Hongguang MINIEV, Wuling NanoEV, KiWi EV and other models, with cumulative sales exceeding 750,000 units. Most of this sales contribution came from Hongguang MINIEV, with cumulative sales reaching 550,000 units, and in December 2021, Hongguang MINIEV sold 55,729 units, becoming the champion of New Energy Vehicle Sales in China for 16 consecutive months.
Auto incident three: Guangqi Honda released 2021 sales data
On January 5, Guangqi Honda announced its sales figures for the full year 2021 and December, with cumulative sales of 780,266 vehicles in 2021, of which 78,402 were sold in December.
Specifically, in terms of cars, Guangqi Honda's cumulative sales of cars in 2021 were 348,467 units, of which Accord sales in December reached 20,460 units, an increase of 5.7% year-on-year, and annual sales reached 201,301 units; Fit sold 96,326 vehicles, an increase of 53.8% year-on-year; and the cumulative orders for the model in the two weeks of listing exceeded 10,000 units.
In terms of SUVs, the cumulative sales volume in 2021 was 382,671 units, of which the cumulative sales of Binzhi reached 173,870 units, an increase of 15.6% year-on-year; the cumulative sales of Haoying reached 166,240 units, an increase of 6.4% year-on-year, and the cumulative sales of Guandao reached 40,048 units. In addition, the MPV model Odyssey sold 43,366 units in the whole year, an increase of 2.6% year-on-year.
Automobile incident four: Great Wall Motor will sell 1.28 million vehicles in 2021
Great Wall Motor announced in the evening that Great Wall Motor's total vehicle sales in December 2021 were about 160,000 units, an increase of 8.17% year-on-year; the cumulative sales volume of the whole year was about 1.28 million units, an increase of 15.24% year-on-year. Among them, the Great Wall sold 22,400 new energy vehicles in December, and the cumulative sales of new energy vehicles from January to December were 137,000 units.
By model, in December, the Haval brand sold about 94,400 units, down 10.52% year-on-year; the WEY brand sold about 10,100 units, an increase of 0.34% year-on-year; the Great Wall pickup truck sold about 25,000 units, an increase of 15.7% year-on-year; the Euler brand sold about 20,900 units, an increase of 64.19% year-on-year; and other sales of 0 units, down 100% year-on-year.
Auto Incident 5: Geely Automobile will sell 1.328 million units in 2021
In December, the company sold 158,765 units, an increase of about 3% year-on-year and a month-on-month increase of about 17%, and in 2021, Geely Automobile's total sales volume was 1,328,029 units, exceeding one million units for five consecutive years, and its market share grew steadily. The world's new high-end brand Lynk & Co sold 25,846 units in December, an increase of about 4% year-on-year, and sold 220,516 vehicles in the whole year, setting a new record for the highest annual sales volume in the history of the Lynk & Co brand. Since 2017, Geely Automobile has won the annual sales championship of Chinese brand passenger cars for five consecutive years. In 2022, Geely Automobile will set a sales target of 1.65 million units, continue to increase its market share, and adhere to high-quality development.
In the field of new energy, new energy and electrification models such as Geometry A, Geometry C, and Emgrand EV were sold at 18,813 units in December, an increase of about 162% year-on-year, a new monthly high, and total sales in 2021 were 100,126 units, an increase of about 47% year-on-year.
In terms of international markets, exports in December increased by 44% y/y to 17,125 units, a new monthly high, and cumulative exports in 2021 reached 115,008 units, up about 58% year-on-year. In the face of the severe epidemic situation overseas, Geely Automobile implemented the Belt and Road Initiative, and the southeast Asian layout fell behind, signed a new contract in the Laos market, and launched business in Chile, Egypt, Ukraine, Bahrain and other markets. The business footprint covers 28 countries, with 24 new sales outlets and 227 overseas sales and after-sales outlets, and Geely Automobile's brand image and influence in the international market have been continuously improved.
